That is my concern. Though we closed out that ottawa game strong. We also injured half their defense on the way there apparently.....
They lost Norris, Hamonic, Sanderson, Chabot along the way though
I like the mind-melt Trotz and Bruno put on the players. Grounded them on U2 Night for lousy play in general, and specifically for spitting-the-bed at home (Trotz did it for us, the fans).
They respond with a perfect roadtrip. Then, facing the typical let-down, coming-off-a-long-road-trip Tuesday night against a lessor opponent, the urgent "not acceptable to lose at home" edict helped them avert a let-down lose Tuesday.
Now we have 4 remaining games before the TDL. We'll be favored in 3 out of 4. Finishing 3-1 will keep us semi-comfortably in a WC position. Can the mind-melt motivation tactic continue for 4 more games, or will they revert to the Perds?

TBH that is my biggest fear after the deadline is that we revert to Perdville, miss trading guys and miss the playoffs.

They have had some struggles lately. They got smoked by Buffalo last night.
Vegas has been on the struggle bus. LA is coming back around and might knock Vegas back into the wildcard

Looking like it's gonna be too late for the Devils to make any trade that could salvage their season. Did they trade away their first this summer to get Meier? That's gotta suck if so

He threw an entire season away after making the playoffs last season simply because he was too cheap to make a move to fill his biggest hole he had going into the season. He should feel pretty lucky he still has a job if he does make it.

That's true and I can understand he might have needed to wait to find the right fit but Saros fit their timeline pretty well and I think will end up being a missed opportunity on their part.
