First line being exempt .I think Trotz is going to be more confrontational than Poile . After the teams performance of late does he say nobody's job is safe in locker room, and what does that look like ?
Welp...scratch that. Cancelled the flight/trip. Chicago getting a huge snowstorm tomorrow and I'm not messing with that. Will probably reschedule for spring and catch a game at Wrigley instead.Headed to Chicago on Friday and have tickets for Hawks/Stars on Saturday. I hope they both get minus 4 points. I'll be repping the Thrashers jersey
Though, selfishly not thrilled about missing Bedard. Oh well.
To what end? We expected to be a non-playoff (even bottom 10) team with a possible outside shot at a Wild Card spot if we played well. Some disappointing recent play aside, we're a bit ahead of what most of us likely expected. The only real moveable assets on the roster are Fabbro/Carrier, Sissons, Trenin, and (if we are accepting a tank) Saros. I expect young guys will continue to cycle in and out of the lineup and the filler guys will keep insulating them.I think Trotz is going to be more confrontational than Poile . toss in the Oilers winning something like 17 of 20 .....Yikes. Didn't see a Kraken 8 game win streak coming....
We're still below the points percentage typically needed to secure a playoff spot ... Edmonton is currently right at it. 58.8% of possible points is a 95-96ish point pace for the season ... the Preds sit at 56%, a 91-92 point pace.Yep. Holding onto that wildcard spot by the skin of our teeth. LA is havin a rough go too 2-4-4 in their last 10 so if they keep it up they may help give us some breathing room
Yeh we are behind LA points % wise but they are having a REAL rough stretch. They lost again last night. For them to drop below us requires a little luck still, but seattle continues to win and so is edmonton. Those PAC games will be huge in the long run standings gameWe're still below the points percentage typically needed to secure a playoff spot ... 12-11-0 at home so far this season ... 12-13-0 against the West .... 8-4-0 vs the CEN, 4-9-0 vs the PAC. Those remaining games against SEA, EDM, LA, ARI loom large.

Following the standings is fun, like a sport inside the sport, comparing point totals and setting up "must win" games against the teams within a couple places of your team. But, as long as they hit the needed points percentage or "games over .500" mark a playoff spot takes care of itself.Yeh we are behind LA points % wise but they are having a REAL rough stretch. The initial post coach change bounce has worn off i guess. Hynes magic is gone.Wild have lost 8 out of 9 including a 6-0 loss last night where they got booed off the ice.
Probably right. If we get the goaltending/defense we know the team is capable of (like we got last night) we should be able to make up some ground. As 101st points out the Preds didn't quite hit the mark in the first half of the season so they have some ground to make up in the second half. I personally think this team is food enough as long as the goaltending solidifies.
Cody Glass must be waived and Afanasyev or Kemmell shall he called upWe need a minimum of three simplistic things to happen for this team to make the post season.
1. Goaltending and team defense has to solidify. Can't keep giving up 3+ in 67% of the games as we've seen across the lat 15 games.
2. The top line has to keep performing at this level we didn't expect at the beginning of the season.
3. The team has to find some fairly consistent secondary scoring.
4th is the need to tighten up the special teams play. 17th ranked PP and 24th ranked PK aren't good indicators.
Trotz disagrees with you about the readiness of Afanasyev or Kemell as full time NHL players. Bruno clearly disagrees with you about Sissions on the wing or at center ... about where Tomasino best fits right now.Cody Glass must be waived and Afanasyev or Kemmell shall he called up
2nd line of Sissons Novak Tomasino
trade fabbro
trotz was quoted this week that he’s ready to start calling guys up if the secondary scoring doesnt improve which speaks to your level of ignorance.Trotz disagrees with you about the readiness of Afanasyev or Kemell as full time NHL players. Nice of you to come out as a Barrie fan since that is the logical outcome of trading Fabbro right now.

the logical conclusion any reasonable human being would deduce from such a posit is that Barrie continues to sit and one of our promising defensemen in milwaukee is called up.
By sure who you are arguing with but I’ve got a pretty good idea.trotz was quoted this week that he’s ready to start calling guys up if the secondary scoring doesnt improve which speaks to your level of ignorance.

“I think that probably the process that I’ve seen work the best…is some of the kids when you need a little bump, some of the kids that are playing really well, you bring them in, the play a couple games — two, three games — they might have a little success and you start to send them back,” Trotz added. “They get a feel for the (NHL) and they get a little bit of confidence.By sure who you are arguing with but I’ve got a pretty good idea.
Here’s what Trotz ACTUALLY had to say about the guys in Milwaukee.
Trotz: Admirals Trio May Be Remedy For Predators’ Stale Offense
Forty-five percent of the goals the Nashville Predators have scored this season have come from just four players, three of which play on the same line. Which is why general manager Barry Trotz has contemplated the different ways he can bolster Nashville’s secondary scoring — the most likely of...nashvillehockeynow.com
He CLEARLY states that they are not ready for full time NHL duty. The call ups would be for a TEMPORARY energy boost to the team.
Now if we can just capitalizeDallas, Minny, Colorado, St. Louis all lost tonight already - nice night in the division
