I don't know.

But he's now the all time most winning coach in Minnesota Wild history.

Simply in terms of winning percentage, minimum of a single game.

Reminds me of this....

With most teams cap strapped and out of options, this TDL may very well be dead at best. Teams are just going to have to make do with what they have unless one of the few teams with cap space are willing to work with them

There is gonna be alot of haggling and hoping that 3rd parties step in for retention.

Zadorov to the canucks for a 5th next year and a 3rd in a couple years. No wonder we havent traded anyone
Vancouver's total payout was Beaullivier (to Chi for a 2024 5th which they flipped here) plus their 6th in 2026 to get Zadorov who is on record as wanting a trade and the Flames seemed less worried about return than they were about moving him out.

Zadorov having a decent year so far but is generally a mediocre #4-6 that is big and throws hits and likes to play offense (e.g. Lauzon). He also wanted out of Calgary. Poor return isn't surprising.

Think Minny might be cooking again... 2-0 under Hynes and now up 3-0 against the Hawks after the 1st period.

After 7 periods of Johnny Hynes Hockey, their goal differential is 12-2, lol.

Give it time, they are in that new coach bump and are just out efforting teams atm. Once he starts trying to get his system in it will be all down hill.

It was last season's post Europe dip that cost the team. 59% of possible points in the last 72 games (85 points earned in that span .... a 96-97 point pace over a full 82 ... not eliminated from the playoffs until game 80) even with all of the injuries and youngsters in the roster after the sell off. While far from elite, Hynes was also far from the coach portrayed here. The fact he was one of the first coaches hired, with term, isn't surprising.

But we could keep pretending that it will all be down hill after they just ravaged the Preds.

Saros kept it respectable not Hynes. The team didn’t limit high danger chances yet also failed to generate offense . 18 th in expected goals 28th expected goals against
So then Saros should get called out for his subpar performances following the Prague trip. He started 8 of the first 10 games when the team went 3-6-1 overall, Saros 2-5-1 in those 8 starts, giving up 3 or more five times. Or does he somehow only get credit and not blame … now across multiple coaches? (it took him stopping 34 of 35 in his 19th start to climb back up to a .900 sv% under Bruno … can’t blame Hynes this season).

7 points in the first 10 games was the deciding segment of the season. Even taking 61.667% of possible points across the next 30 games wasn’t enough to dig out of that hole. Hynes, Johansen, Duchene, Forsberg, Josi, Saros all contributed to that bad start … and all contributed to the next 65-70 games trying to dig back out of that hole into a playoff spot.

Sounds like he's just judging the player based on the entirety of the season. Saros isn't going to play great every game or stretch of games- no player does- but I think it's hard to make the case that Saros wasn't the #1 reason the Preds even sniffed playoff contention last year.

Honestly, Saros seems to struggle early in every season.

He does. If you’re going to cite him as the one thing that made things “respectable” last season then his typical sluggish start also deserves citing for the team’s overall bad early performance.
did I say it didn't?

Hynes though is responsible for the system that continued to bleed high danger scoring chances.

Yet when the same standard is applied to those that aren’t HF favorites people here become aghast.

You just conveniently o

If Hynes is 100% responsible for high danger chances against then Hynes is also responsible for 75% of 80+ point players in franchise history and the second highest goal total for the Preds across 82 games … for putting Novak in position to succeed.
So is your take that Hynes system last season was fine?

Nowhere did I say that. But if one were to look at the details, the worst xGF/xGA games clustered towards the end of the season where we lacked Josi, Joey, Forsberg, and Duchene. We had 8 games with 15 or more HD for and against … the inexcusable one being allowing so many HD chances to the Habs. At that level of detail it becomes an interesting question of how much was actual system and how much was the fact we were icing an AHL heavy roster for months.

Broberg from Edmonton given permission to seek a trade. Barrie from Nashville given permission to seek a trade.

Maybe there is a match there
