Vesey and Galchenyuk have similar P/60...Vesey is perceived as having a strong 2-way game (laughable imho) and Galchenyuk the opposite....plus id say Vesey is very much a Julien kinda guy with the physical part to his game and going to the dirty areas (albeit not doing much with it). I dont see it as being as big of a mismatch as others...really Galchenyuk is a 4th liner for them most of the time...Vesey is a 4th liner for us most of the time...they both move up and down the lineup...they both get some PP mins...Galchenyuk cashes in...Vesey doesnt. their ES point rates are decidedly in Veseys favor..their PP production are severely tilted in Galchenyuks favor.

Id love to get that kid outta the boiler.

Is the perception out there really that Veseys two way game is strong? I think it’s adequate, but what’s made Vesey valuable (at least in AVs eyes), seems to be his work ethic.

That's the same bullshit in which he found Glass to be valuable. At some point, work ethic alone doesn't cut it. Vesey's ceiling is a 3rd line guy with a high energy motor. That's the role he should be used in.

All that being said about Josh Bailey...

...that was a godly shift from Tavares in that OT. Like...holy crap.

Great night of hockey for me. Rangers dominate in a 6-1 win, my boys Mika and Kreider score, and Callahan in Tampa plays likely one of his best games in years, with a 2 point night.

Gotta say that it was appropriate to add a team to the league from the talent pool perspective. I mean these VK players would continue to be 3rd or 4th liners on their original teams but showed they could be better than that.

I've never seen someone reach around an opponent to move the puck to himself like Tavares did.

NHL applied the rules wrong there. I agree with how it was applied, but how they applied it isn't in the rules. If the guy intends to blow the whistle, its no goal, regardless of whether its a good goal.

hockey fights cancer night in nj...pregame they wore the purple jerseys with 'boyle strong' patches on them. and then boyle scored a pp goal...hate even the thought of cheering a devil but i can't not root for him.

Boyle is a class act. Watched him here and then in Tampa, and he was great. Glad he is finding success with the Devils....just not against us.

It's easy to root for Boyle imo. I know he raised expectations when he scored 20. When people realized what his real #'s should be and how he played, he became a more valued player.

Anyway, good for BB and I truly hope hope he beats Leukemia and can continue to be a productive player even when he's on the Devils, opponents don't matter when they're fighting cancer or for their lives. My best friend is going through something similar, he's 50 days into a BMT and wow it's crazy how it affects so many lives.
