I read the article in its entirety, here's the bit where Zion (to whom Kane owes $4.25 million that's he's trying to avoid paying by filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, instead of Chapter 11) talks about his wife:

It sounds like Zions is obviously pissed because Kane is intentionally trying to avoid paying them the $4.25 million that he borrowed from them (with some creditors claiming he misled them into lending him money), while simultaneously gambling away that money

Zions wants Kane's bankruptcy petition to be changed from Chapter 7 (where creditors like Zions can't toll Kane's NHL contract) to Chapter 11 (where creditors like Zions, to whom Kane owes millions of dollars, can toll his NHL contract so that the they can collect the millions of dollars they leant to Kane)

Creditors are pretty much saying that they can't trust Kane because of his gambling problems and that Kane can't be trusted to manage his own estate, which is why they believe his bankruptcy filing should be changed from Chapter 7 to Chapter 11.

There are also claims by creditors that Kane misled them in order to secure those loans. I have no sympathy for Kane because it sounds like he and his lawyer are trying to pull a fast one to avoid paying debt he racked up (that he clearly has the means to pay due to the remaining money on his NHL contract). The blurb about his wife seems minor compared to the millions he's trying to avoid paying his creditors
The blurb is minor but the fact is it didn't need to be entered. There are a lot of moms that have postpartum and it can be very difficult to care for a child during this time. I'm not saying 12k is reasonable or not reasonable but the reason for having it can be very valid.

I also have little sympathy for someone who loans out that much money and isn't incredibly thorough. The first red flag for me would have been the loan in question I believe was personal and I would love to see what the loan reason was.

I agree that the blurb about his wife is unnecessary and unprofessional, but I think the indignity towards it is an attempt to overlook what Kane and his lawyer are trying to do with regards to stiffing his lenders

I think the problem is that creditors are claiming that Kane misled them, and many of them made those loans based on Kane's NHL contract. Some of them were being paid directly by the Sharks from Kane's salary until he and his lawyer told them to stop those payments prior to filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

I don't think banks are the good guys, but neither is Kane and this looks like a con/fraud

Colin blackwell was A missed opportunity. He just drove be to the net, sniped a top corner, bodied a Bruins player, taunted and stood over him, took a viscous slash, laughed and went to the bench.

I hate banks. They are some of the biggest con artists out there. They loan out money at predatory rates and then the second you are a few hours late, they release the hounds.

I, admittedly, have never taken out a million dollar loan. But the hoops I had to jump through for my home loan which is a fraction of Kane's loan was a financial colonoscopy.

Evander Kane is a straight up psychopath. He's a wretched human being who deserves every bad thing coming to him. His horrific financial situation based on outright fraud, on top of the very credible sexual assault allegations here in Buffalo, tells me everything I need to know. Total scum.

A. Matthews have more goals than Olofsson, Reinhart, Eichel and Hall combined. That's some achievement
In all fairness, he is playing in the weakest division with little defense and horrific goaltending. Every game in the Canadian division has the chance to end 10-9.

Edit: He is very talented and is a top forward in the league.

Court filings like this aren't about being nice. They are about trying to win.

Kane's filing had a bunch of bogus stuff in there trying to get out of his obligations. One was that he might not play this season and terminate his contract.

I don't feel bad for Kane or the bank.

Wait, I thought with the condensed schedule there wasn't enough practice time to do things like this? :sarcasm:
They're recycling systems that any player at that level already knows. It's totally lacking in intellectual creativity. Any competent coach could do that. The Pegulas demand more. The Krueger method is a process that incorporates structural dynamic concepts in a holistic biodiverse platform that achieves connectivity through quantum principles. It does require practice. Once mastered it's possible to control game events at a subatomic level (ref Schrödinger's puck). Theoretically, a team schooled in this system would never lose a game. I'm sure the Sabres could "succeed" using the tried and true methods, but what we're really striving for here is perfection.
