Made me curious so I looked it up.
Since the Chychrun trade (March 1st) the Sens have the 6th worst record in the NHL (.468 P%) & the Yotes have the 7th worst record in the NHL since that time (.480 P%). Ottawa pacing at 77pts per 82gp, with Arizona on a 79pts per 82gp pace.
It’s much more drastic this season. Arizona is 19th in league standings (.517 P%) and Ottawa is 29th (.440 P%). That’s 72pt pace for Ottawa and 85pt pace for Arizona.

I agree, but when your goalies can't stop a beach ball it doesn't matter how few mistakes you make. Ottawa, Buffalo and Edmonton have a lot of talent, except between the pipes.

the Ottawa Senators have such a boring brand. Nothing exciting about them. They’re most famous for being a terrible expansion team early and then having a terrible owner for a long time. It’s mostly been just embarrassing for forgettable the entire time (other than the one cup run). Kinda like us.
It would be really fun if this new owner kicked off the new era with Brady Tkachuk as captain, Craig Berube as Head Coach and Patrick Roy as GM. Nothing dull about any of that. They’d always be headline grabbers. Suddenly talked about as much in Canada as the more premiere teams.

That had a stretch a couple decades ago where they were top contenders most years and then would lose to the inferior Leafs most Springs.
This current team seems to be highly skilled but unwilling to stick to the dirty details that lead to success, guess we are about to find out if they are willing to change that.

It's always after losing to the team they had no business beating. It's never after losing to the Coyotes. haha
Yeah. “We lost to the best team in the league on the road guys, enough’s enough!”
If you watched that game you would know why it was the last straw. Dumb plays and dumber penalties, they were in control of that game and in 2 minutes they were done.
