Just saw Fischer lay someone out in the Red Wings game. Hopefully that wasn't a rare occasion as it was for most of his time with the Coyotes. I kinda thought he might not earn a roster spot with the Red Wings but it looks like he's played in just about every game.

There are rumors but there is also the very well documented binge of his post cup win, with a trade thereafter, and then a stint in players assistance program and then a retained salary trade, and now waivers. I don’t want to speculate but I do remember Cheechoo’s star fading extremely quickly like this.

They're not a good team right now, and only going to get worse I feel. That said, I don't think Berube was their problem. Their blue line is a shell of its former self, and their goaltending is a Greek tragedy (Hofer isn't ready, and my former toxic fantasy hockey crutch Jordan Binnington is perpetual garbage.)
