Kyle Davidson just did a press conference and said it didn't involve other players or their families aka Bedard's mom rumours probably aren't true. He pretty much evaded all questions but he was visibly upset by whatever HAS happened.

However, the way people and social media are now, this will probably follow Bedard for the rest of his career.
Sounds like all the Hawks are saying is basically is not THAT rumour, doesn’t involve other families and the players do not know, and it’s not criminal. I’m not sure what that even leaves, lol.

Perry is a POS on the ice but he’s clean off of it - so far anyway. I hope for Bedard s sake, Perry himself comes out and says something. I feel for that kid reading the comments from the toilet bowl that is social media.

Extreme drunken behaviour in one's one home that does not cross over the line into a threat of violence or disturbing the peace? That's about all I can think of. Being sent to the drunk tank, as far as I know, technically does not count as criminal behaviour. But depending on what was said and to who, it absolutely could have violated a team's zero-tolerance behaviour policy.

He may have defecated on a Blackhawks jersey and wiped his rear with the sleeve? Something that really disrespected the team as a whole?

Absent any concrete evidence of what Perry did and to whom (i.e. he may have done significantly worse to someone else) I'd be inclined to agree. She's certainly done nothing whatsoever to warrant the accusations she's going to get for a long long time.
True, however I can see how this happens. The NHL and SN has, as the kids would say, been glazin' on Bedard and I've read a lot of irritated comments on any social media post about him. So when the opportunity came up, it wasn't going to take much to get something going. Also the Kyle Beach situation has really tarnished the franchise and people were licking their chops waiting for something else to happen. Perfect situation to get some online shame going.

Unfortunately for him, the damage is done and will probably follow him for good. Court of public opinion has spoken and convicted. Doesn't even matter what the truth is now.

You would think that whatever it was that Corey Perry did did not involve drugs or alcohol because he could just go into the NHL player assistance program with support from the Hawks and the NHL. Until he was asked to submit to that and flat out declined.

It may not be Stiflers mom, err I mean Bedard's mom but it has to have been something that could not in any way be walked back.

Eventually, like everything else these days it will come out. The Hawks and or the NHL will have to come forward with the details to avoid talk of a cover up and show the hockey world they are dealing with this with full transparency.

I'd imagine there are enough lawyers involved right now that not much else can be said other than no comment?

Hey, they listened to @10Ducky10!

In all seriousness, even though it should have been Comrie that was gone, this is also a much better scenario than running with all three goalies in the show. The Finn in me (which is all of me, I guess) is thrilled to see if they now have the courage to let Luukkonen fully take over the net.
He needs time to adapt to the pro game.
He'll have plenty of time to do that in Rochester.
It is the right move.

The trick is to never tell someone anything. Ever. You have a firewall within your firm and you never repeat anything beyond that. Hell, sometimes you can't even talk within your own firm, check out Chinese Walls.

The wife and I practiced law for more than 40 years each and we never once discussed case details with each other. Never. That's what being called to the Bar means. Granted, we had different practice areas and expertise but we never shared confidences. We gossiped like hell about everybody's cases, but never a word of our own. I would expect the Hawks legal team to be just as professional.

Lucic laid his hands on his wife and is on indefinite leave with the Bruins, so what exactly did Perry do to be waived and contract terminated.

Maybe they realized what a mistake it was giving him 4m and using this as a way out of the contract.

Also, I have no doubt that Lucic did what he is accused of but nothing there has been proven.

“Mark Cuban is selling a majority stake of the Dallas Mavericks to Miriam Adelson and casino tycoon Adelson family for a valuation in the range of $3.5 billion sources tell The Athletic.

In one of the most unique setups in NBA history, Cuban keeps shares in the team and full control of basketball operations.”

Cool way to pull $3.5 billion out of an asset and still have control.

I cannot emotionally grasp what it must be like to "have" that much money.

I can intellectually get my head around $3.5 billion and understand how much it really is, but when I try to understand what it would feel like to have that much money ..... I just go into some sort of fugue and lose it completely.

All pro sports is just money laundering

So Bedard's mom is still on the market?

Honestly when it gets past a certain point it’s just a number because theres not much left that money buys.

Study the rise and fall of the Vanderbilt family for a cautionary tail of how extreme wealth can be a curse.

I have enough trouble finding time to just focus on my thesis, but I'll note your advice for later.

If I clear $250 in tips for a 4 hour shift I feel pretty pleased and when I break $300 a night on Friday or Saturday, I'm very happy -- but then I find myself contemplating a BILLION dollars.....

Too foxing unreal to get my head around!

That bartending/server money can be pretty easy to get used to as well. I have run into so many people who transitioned into “real jobs” thay look back and pine for the days they walked with $300 on a night.”

Good gig while you are going through school.

Yeah, I've heard pretty much the same thing from friends when I've tested the idea of quitting work in the new year. And it is SO easy to get used to the money, especially after you buy a car and have to put gas in the foxing thing week after week. And here I thought Sobey's was expensive...

I was checking out the Hawks board and one of their posters (who seemed to have some inside intel) mentioned that it was very serious and Hawks staff had to sign NDAs. Who’s knows if that has merit tho.
