I have watched the Dillon crosscheck about a dozen times and I have no idea what Wild fans are so pissed about. That same play happens probably a hundred times a game, including ON Dillon immediately afterwards.

I mean watch this video.

Dillon crosschecks him twice even before the reverse hit that he was supposedly avenging, then gets crosschecked himself, and then at the end of the play a Jet gets crosschecked behind the net!

And he likely injured himself during his Oscar winning crumple/fall to the ice where he was trying to draw a penalty. No one falls like that from a crosscheck. That team is full of trash.

Hartman is such a f**king piece of shit. Youre going to stick a guy in the face because Kaprizov got cross checked and likely injured himself trying to embellish it like a bitch. Hartman could have taken Perfetti's freaking eye out or knocked a bunch of teeth out. And leave it to that f**king weasel to go after the smallest guy on the ice. I absolutely hate that piece of trash. I would pay to have Lowry or Dillon cave in his head.

Don't think Kaprizov embellished, he got hit in a bad spot. Not a suspension worthy play but he didn't even really go down and then came back at Dillon immediately.

I thought the Lowry-Maroon fight at the beginning was supposed to be getting that stuff out of the way.

I dunno... have you ever taken a shot in your floating ribs?

Doesn't have to have a ton of force behind it to
hurt like a mofo

But I think the takeaway is that Dillon didn't hit him hard, but got him in the right spot

The NHLPA's #1 Priority seems to be to protect on ice perpetrators.

It's maybe one of the reasons why they can never win PR battles during CBA negotiations, despite the fact they're up against Bettman, lol.

Good for Perfetti for spilling the beans at least - If this is the case, I don't know how you can't suspend for like 5-10 games based on the player's history.

This is becoming a big hockey story around the league.

The agreement between the NHL and the PA is that mics are only allowed if they're not used in disciplinary action.

So he gets caught trying to intentionally injure a player and gets a fine. Bush league DOPS keeps on getting it wrong

This was clarified on Twitter. A stipulation for the players being mic'd up during play was that anything caught on recording can't be used by the league for disciplinary actions. It's why he only got a fine instead of, y'know, actually using his extensive disciplinary history against him. Parros is a muppet.

That's what I was responding to. (I guess I should have included Marek's tweet, lol)

I think that's BS.

What happens if a star player is seriously injured, and audio comes out a coach ordered the offending player to do something dirty to him?

This would probably be premeditated assault like when Bertuzzi broke Steve Moore's neck. Can't be penalized by the league, but you sure as shit can be brought up on criminal charges. I imagine that coach would be censured hard for it as well.

I don't understand the Wild and their love for so many shit heads on their roster, this ain't the seventies and the last I heard you don't get 2 points for playing neanderthal hockey. They tried to run the Jets at every turn how did that work out for them. Anyways I hope they and their fans enjoy the off season they ain't making the playoffs, just not not enough talent.

Honestly, and this is 90 per cent just my own bias, but I think the series against Winnipeg in 2018 kinda broke their brains.

The Jets dummied them throughout that series (Winnipeg took on the personality of Big Buff), and they've been chasing that ghost ever since.

Frankly, I thought they just didn't have the skill on that team, thanks to the dumb contracts, and the key in the modern NHL is to have a team full of Brad Marchand/Tkachuk types that are pretty dirty players, but actually highly skilled as well, lol.

(For the Jets, I think Scheif has this streak in him, and Morrissey I think defiantly could play this role, lol)

The playoffs are such a crapshoot as referees basically refuse to call the rulebook, you need some kind of asshole quality to your team these days.

(And this isn't to shit on NHL referees - It's clear that's the style that coaches, players, the league, and I think most fans, want the games to look like. If referees actually were excellent at calling the game, they wouldn't be brought forward.)

The league DOPS should change their name to DPOS. This is utterly stupid. I am planning on decapitating someone, so I get mic'd up, say I am going to decapitate someone and then decapitate them. But no problem because I had my get out of jail free mic on.

There was an agreement made during the choice to Mic up players that the comments contained there in couldn't be used for disciplinary matters.

It sucks, but at least we all have seen it laid abundantly clear the quality of the man Hartman is, and what an abject coward he is for going after the small guy on the team. That, and the fact we f***ing embarrassed the Wild doesn't hurt wither.

Just imagine the fallout if someone is seriously injured on a premediated act or a racist/homophobic slur is caught on the mic but the league can't do anything due to an agreement.

I get the players don't want to be punished for everyday routine hockey trash talk, but there is definitely a line there imo and blatantly stating you intended to injure someone to send a message is one of them.

Good thing Hartman did not call him a homophobic slur or he would have been suspended the rest of the year and have to go to good boy classes to get reinstated .

This is basically it. They got bullied by a team that did a lot of bullying. Ever since then Guerin has been trying his hardest to make sure it never happened again but I don't think its made them a better team(honestly having Kaprizov fall into their laps has made them better but they just keep adding plugs to their lineup).

Yeah, the problem wasn't that they weren't physical enough IMO, but it seems Minny management disagreed with my assessment - I thought they went toe-to-toe with the Jets pretty well in the physicality department throughout most of the series - but they had a goaltending meltdown in a game, and just didn't have forward skill to beat Helle consistently.

That Jets team was certainly more physical than the Golden Knights, (not to mention Minny was way more physical than Nashville, who gave the Jets fits) and Winnipeg lost to them, so I guess Minny's management was so salty they stopped watching the NHL playoffs like I do when the Jets are eliminated, lol..
