Everything going the oilers way right now. Hottest win streak in the league. They play chicago up next and possibly will be above .500

They seem to be getting some level of flukiness to their goals. The real deal or will they come crashing down?

I keep thinking they’ll come down back to average but I guess never bet against Draisatil and McDavid

This is reverting to the mean. They were playing well enough to start the year and the goaltending ruined them. Now they're getting decent goaltending and they're back to what people thought they were in the preseason.

We knew in Winnipeg that Laine was a shooter, not a play driver. This is clear in Columbus where he doesn't have the horses around him to set him up.

I have no problem with this
Yup, if the refs can't control the players what do you expect?

Gaudreau is probably movable but that Laine contract is a real stinker

The NHL's problem in a nutshell (to me) is that there's too much "f***ing around" and not enough "finding out"

Imagine someone going knee on knee with Gretzky or Yzerman or Sakic back in the day like the Connor play last night. Would have never happened.

And I consider myself a "reformed dinosaur". I can do without the staged fights and all that but the "code" that guys used to play by seems to be a thing of the past

Perhaps laine ends up back in Winnipeg to refind his mojo. Huge retention needed but the peg may be the best place for him.

He wouldn't fit with what we want from our players any longer.

Vrana is on waivers, wonder if we make a claim if KC is out for a very long time.

You would think Johnny Hockey would be up for that job given he's a high end playmaker.

You spelled Finland wrong.

Barron is a good player and I like him but he is not consistent enough for a top line role.
I want to see Scheif and Perfetti with Volare. Bones likes to load up the 1st line.

Hard pass

Understand the nostalgia around the days of Laine and Buff but having him back would be like trying to get back together with an ex. There was a reason for the break up in the first place

Yeah, and it was Wheeler, the toxic best friend who ruined your life and cost you something to get rid of .

Not that I think current Laine is a good fit on this meat and potatoed squad, but the last version of Laine and Buff we had on this roster would improve this team massively. A shame how things went.
