How does it work that something like this has Buffalo at 67.8% to make playoffs, less chance than getting through each round than a team like Dallas, but somehow more chance to actually win the cup??

im going to guess it has to do w/ matchups in the PO rounds. BUF might match-up better against teams compared to DAL
they have an About section on how they calculate odds.

He is another player that just couldn't translate despite a real strong pre NHL resume.

To be fair I do think think the Preds do a great job developing forward prospects. Their strength is more in defenseman and goalies.
