Waaaah.A lot of the leafs media are pretty sore at this move. They feel Dubas lied to them a couple of weeks ago hen he said he "couldn't see himself move to another organization". Lying is part of the job for GMs, though.

I want a player like Tkchuck more than ever watching this finals game. He just fires up the team and gets the blood flowing.
The jets have always played best when they get riled up but they don’t have a single player that plays like that.
Emphasis on “some”. Didn't get the Flames to the promised land.Even though Gaudreau denies it I have to wonder how much Sutter's influence lead to him wanting out of there as well. We know it at least had some effect on Tkachuk wanting out.
The days of guys like Babcock, Sutter and Torts are dying out. And really it's not even like this is a new thing. We have heard from plenty of former players about the way these kinds of coaches operate and how it has a negative effect on them, despite having some on ice success because of it.
Yes, but could you imagine taking Juolevi 5th overall? Thats gotta hurt waaay more.

I’m laugh reacting at Bettman’s remarks, not your analysis of it. I agree with you.Gary Bettman: NHL still committed to keeping Coyotes in Arizona after arena referendum failed | TSN
Commissioner Gary Bettman says the NHL is still committed to Arizona after Tempe voters rejected a referendum for a Coyotes arena. Bettman said the team is looking at other areas around Phoenix for a long-term home.www.tsn.ca
“It’s a good market, and if we can make it work, we’ll make it work,” Bettman said. “We've had our challenges."
Well here is a clue Gary: it’s not a good market. In fact its ass, but you can’t get over that its a city of 5 million and owners keep popping up thinking the same thing.
Babcock to Columbus.
I wonder how he'll mesh with Laine.
If Laine comes to camp in so-so shape and drags himself through fitness testing in camp the way he did in Winnipeg, Babs will let everyone know he's displeased. Maybe this will be a good wake-up call for Laine and he'll take another step to being an elite player. If Laine thought Wheeler and freaking Maurice of all people were hard on him....
How many games before Babs benches Laine for a shift? I would bet on it happening before January.
Roslovic is probably gonna get it even worse with the way he plays defensively.
Fixed it for you...Maybe this will be a good wake-up call for Laine and he'll take another step to being an elite player on Fortnite...
10 days off really showed on the Panthers, they started the game aggressively but as the game wore on they were more a more a step behind.

Apologies for the late response or if this has been covered--I've been off the grid for a few weeks with work. He's 10th in the NHL in the past 5 years for points per game (Marner is 15th). In the last 3 years, he's 7th. In the last 2 seasons, he's tied with Connor McDavid for most goals...
He hasn't taken the next step in the playoffs, sure. No disagreement there. I think people like to ignore the regular season with these discussions...
He's a top 5 player in the league right now, easily, and probably top 3....

For Laine's sake I hope he takes it that way and becomes the elite player he could be ... he was so entertaining his rookie season and I thought he was going to be an absolute monster but he's been very underwhelming since then and I think his lack of dedication to fitness is a key part of this.If Laine comes to camp in so-so shape and drags himself through fitness testing in camp the way he did in Winnipeg, Babs will let everyone know he's displeased. If it is such a good market, why is their TV audience basically zilch?Gary Bettman: NHL still committed to keeping Coyotes in Arizona after arena referendum failed | TSN

Poor bastards (Laine and Rosie) - annihilation is imminent. If Laine thought Wheeler and freaking Maurice of all people were hard on him....

Funny though how Laine escaped the Jets, only to have to play under two of the most hardass coaches- Torts and Babs.

Not disagreeing with his regular season impact, but the most interesting thing about Matthews at the moment is that he is about to be eclipsed by Jack Eichel. I told my son after seeing him live in the Wpg series that this could be the year of Eichel. If Vegas wins the Cup and Eichel wins the scoring title (both of which I am predicting), then years of toiling in Matthews' shadow will be reversed.
It would be a remarkable troll job on many counts if Eichel wins a Cup and Conn Smythe before both McDavid and Matthews (if either of those two ever do). I've never liked Eichel but his strange career trajectory has made him slightly more likeable. He certainly looks focused right now.Apologies for the late response or if this has been covered--I've been off the grid for a few weeks with work.
