I think I posted this here first in response to Kanadalainens post.

But..

Outside of Leafs Nation, This was pretty well received by the HockeyMeme Community on Reddit and has almost gone Viral.

They have been my favorite non Jet team for awhile now. Love how they built that team and how they play.
Really impressive how they can almost plug and play goalies - so much D support from their system

Will be interesting to see what happens with their big UFA year coming up soon

Morons on r/leafs are calling for the Leafs to dress Clifford or Simmonds next game in retaliation for the Knies injury.

As a Leafs hater, I say, yes please!

The best revenge is winning, but that Rock Bottom that Knies got was pretty dirty.

Mercer would be nice, but I think it might take a larger deal than just Helle to entice them to move Mercer. They do have Hughes and Hischier at centre so who knows.

Regardless, Helle would be perfect for the Devils. Dare I say, a match made in hell.

It kind of would be a late consolation prize for the entire NHL fanbase after never getting Miroslav Satan on the Devils for sure.

Seasons where 8 or more defensemen had 70 or more points in a season:

2022-23 (8)
1993-94 (8)
1992-93 (9)

That is all...this is a real outlier year for the sheer number of defensemen who put up big numbers.

Seasons where the top scoring defenseman beat the runner up by >25 points:

2022-23: Karlsson 101, Morrissey/Hughes 76 (25 point gap)
1985-86: Coffey 138, Mark Howe 82 (56 point gap!)
1984-85: Coffey 121, Bourque 86 (35)
1983-84: Coffee 126, Bourque 96 (30)
1978-79: Dennis Potvin 101, Salming 73 (28)
1975-76: Dennis Potvin 98, Jean Potvin 72 (26)
1974-75: Orr 135, Dennis Potvin 76 (59)
1973-74: Orr 122, Park 82 (40)
1972-73: Orr 101, Lapointe 54 (47)
1971-72: Orr 117, Park 73 (44)
1970-71: Orr 139, Tremblay 63 (76!)
1969-70: Orr 120, Vadnais 44 (76!)
1960-61: Red Kelly 70, Doug Harvey 39 (31)

So if you're ever wondering how dominant Orr was...in 1969-70 and 1970-71, you could have divided Orr's points by 2 and he'd still have placed 1st and 2nd in defenseman scoring for those seasons!

Orr was 26 at the start of the 1974-75 - the year he beat Potvin by 59 points. He'd only play 30 more NHL games after that...
In my opinion Bobby Orr was the most talented all around hockey player I've ever seen play the game. Of those points he scored, that are cited above, many many of them came from far back, just inside the blueline. Orr could also skate like the wind. He was the most complete player I've ever seen. He was something else.

New York Rangers parted ways with Gerrard Gallant... PLEASE COME TO WINNIPEG! Best job security in all of sports!

While I would like Gallant here, it would require Bowness being relieved of his contract with a lot of players needing to be moved out. I doubt that would happen.

I'm beginning to believe that Chipman wants mostly yes-men around him.

A coach that has been fired 3 times in the last 6 years is not somebody im interested in seeing coach the Jets.
Maybe just maybe he is not the coach so many think he is and pine for, pretty stacked team and Devils took them out and the Devils have no answers for the Canes so far who are missing some key pieces.

He was incredible. So electric to watch right from his rookie season with his end to end rushes at will.
