In the Oilers case, a good offense might be the best defense. The more often you have the puck, the less often you have to defend. With that said, maybe they should look at Erik Karlson with some retention by San Jose and maybe trade them Barrie as part of the deal. He will cost a pretty penny and is older, but the next few years has to be the Oilers time to go for it and not hoard draft picks. Draisatl is a free agent in a couple years and Mcdavid will be one in 3 years.
