Just look around the league and you see teams letting kids play and learn, and for whatever reason here it seems like every one of our kids is scared to play. Not sure if it's the organization, the coaching, or the general atmosphere of the city and everything. But this has been with multiple players, multiple coaches, multiple GMs, so what's the denominator here?
maybe they are still developing and maybe they are not that good of NHL players yet. If this is the same result we will see in 5 years then it shows that they should have stayed in Juniors and Finland for 1 more year. Maybe the Rangers should have sent Lafy and Kakko back after their draft year.

I mean I could buy that with one or two guys, but this has been with how many now? We seem to do a good job developing defenseman, but for whatever reason our forwards no matter how skilled or mature just seem timid in their offensive game. Right now it's probably not a fair criticism because it stands out more now while the big guns are struggling. I guess deep down I still think it has a lot to do with deployment. Like if you put players in a position will you show them constantly that you believe that they can make an impact offensively or with their skill and creativity that will breed confidence. Just dumping them into a shootout every once in awhile doesn't do that. Sure they're being worked into the 5v5 rotation, but over times, power plays, things like that or where every team knows that they're impact guys are getting the best opportunities. We just don't give that to our kids which indirectly says to them and really everybody hey we don't really think you can get the job done. That sucks.

Zibanejad has 0 in the last 4. The whole team can’t score. And Kakko has never looked like this in the past. Laf still looks like shit though.
Kakko has had spurts in the past. But the issue is that the common theme around him always comes down to excuses. Like you just did it yourself pointing to zib and his lack of production as if that's the reason for kakko. At some point there has to be some onus on the actual player and not a constant string of excuses. He looks good, but he's not producing.

Okay what do you suggest we do, trade him? Would probably be best for his career, much like Nils going to Dallas and looking pretty good.

no, I am criticizing the deployment again and pointing this at him at the same time.

he works hard and sometimes it just seems like he's programed to "work" and not be productive ha.

I am just frustrated

I’ve been frustrated with Kakko a lot the past few years but idk he just looks different now. Whereas Laf still looks like a timid rookie, Kakko looks like a vet. I don’t think he’ll ever be a big producer but I like how’s he’s playing so far, if Zib and Kreider get their breads out of their asses he’s gonna be fine. I’d actually like to see him with Panarin and on the PP but that won’t happen with this coach.

My local pavilion arena that was recently deemed unacceptable for the SUNYAC "Division 4" level school that played there and only had one rack of benches on one side for the audience had better locker rooms than that shit.

Heck Colgate's arena which was the worst I ever played in looked 10x better.

I may watch this game out of morbid curiosity.

Pretty sure that's only a temp visitors locker room while the real one is being brought up to NHL level.

Still funny

To be completely fair, both Zibanejad and Kreider have 2 points combined at 5v5 this season.

There is some regression correction coming for Zibanejad. Kreider has just been glass.
I don't much care about zibs points in relation to kakko. I know they are linemates and all but it just seems w kakko it's always something as to why the points aren't there. It's always something with kakko and it's so frustrating
