That appears to be a list of the values of the actual teams, as opposed to their value to the league in terms of exposure/advertising.
Well which one do those sociopath nerds who control everything care about more?

I'm not on social media so apologies if this has already been everywhere in the world but I thought this was spot on and hilarious. And something weirdo goalies like @Bench would especially appreciate.

I'm not sure what you mean by that question or by posting the sale value of the top NHL teams. The networks don't really care if the Islanders are more valuable if the Wings bring them higher ratings.

Sure, a Toronto/Chicago final would be the ultimate ratings wet dream for the NHL, but teams like Detroit, Pittsburgh and Colorado would draw higher ratings than several teams on that list.

Where exactly would he play. He has 9 pts in 27 GP. Christian Fischer has that much and he is physical and PK's.

eh he did have 20 goals and 48 points last year with a different team to be fair

still though even assuming he can bounce back a bit i'd rather just play Berggren at that point, probably pretty similar performance and one is a decade younger than the other and could improve

Dang. Sens fire their coach and hire *checks notes* Jacques Martin??? Who says the NHL is an old boys club? they're bringing in some fresh new blood here.

I'm bummed this happened before the Wings played them. I was hoping for the coach firing hat trick.

You would think even with that lineup they would have better than a .423 point%. Bad coach or not.

Also Jacques Martin? Huh, the guy who couldn't win a cup with those stacked Ottawa teams back when? Ok.

I was always a fan of Alfredsson but it's funny how the most qualified candidate for a job so often happens to be a former player of that franchise (the Wings are guilty of this as well).

So they hired him as a Senior Advisor and his advice was to fire the head coach and hire him?

While I usually hate all the retreading of franchise legends around a team, Yzerman cut his teeth on his own in Tampa and proved to more than competent at the job. Fortunately he's one of the rare exceptions where he may very well have been the most sought after free agent GM had he not gone straight to Detroit for obvious reasons. Book is out on the likes of Draper and such, and I don't want to get into that, because I know people love to sound off on that one.

Sakic worked out great as well, so it seems the battle between Sakic and Yzerman continues to be one of the most legendary of the sport. Two guys battling on the ice for these franchises now both heading them and restoring them to former glory. Kinda wild if you think about it.

But there's also plenty of cautionary tales. Joe Nieuwendyk and Brett Hull were both Stars legends and set that franchise back years with their missteps. It's always funny to recall they thought Sean Avery was the missing piece they needed to beat the Wings in the playoffs. Yeesh. I don't think a lot of Wings fans are aware how obsessed the Stars were that season with finding a solution for them. But that entire off-season was designed to help the Stars become a more fearsome playoff matchup against the Wings and well... they wouldn't even make the playoffs... for the next 5 seasons. Whoops!

Stevie and Sakic were known for their hockey IQ. Not so much with Hull. You can tell just by the way they talk.

What's funny is I didn't even have Sakic and Yzerman in my head because they've got such legit careers as GM. lol

In particular for the Wings I was thinking more the guys like Horcoff, Draper, Maltby, Fischer, Kronwall, Cleary. I'm sure those guys are at least adequate and some probably do a great job, but that's an awful lot of candidates from one team (with the exception of Horcoff). Especially one era of the team.

It was good for a laugh watching Joe Kocur telling Lidstrom what he should be doing out there.
