The only team blowing leads and falling as fast as the Wings is the Senators right now. Company for the bottom.

How many different teams' fans be feeling this meme?

Up until recently the NHL average save percentage this year was a ridiculously low .902, and the past couple of weeks it feels like that has dropped as a boatload of teams have been lit up lately. We seem to be getting 1985 level NHL goaltending this year league wide.

somehow there are 10 Goalies with 10+ starts that have a worse save percentage than Husso this year and another couple that are close to 10 starts

kinda crazy to think about

aww they cut off the best part where the dog saves the puck.

I know it doesn't work for the meme but I feel the need to defend the dog's goaltending. He has more mental focus than the Wings trio of goalies.
I think you're on to something here. Maybe Husso and Reimer were literally trained to stop a beach ball instead of a puck.

Hire that dog trainer, stat!

There are also 42 goalies with 10+ starts that have better SV% than Husso. Goaltending has been bad this season though.

Meanwhile Smith takes out Connor with a high hit.

I don't think it was a dirty play, Connor had his head down, and Brendan got a piece of his face along with the shoulder.
Wasn't diety it was a good hit. Just sucks big time for bedard and the game of hockey. So many people go watch Chicago when they come to town simply to see bedard play. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Broke his jaw, yikes. I still think Smith intended to get a clean hit, and just hit him a bit too high because Connor had his head down. He'll learn to keep his head up.

Also, this is why teams still need an enforcer. Not a pure fighter, but a guy like Gudas, Zadorov, or Wilson that can throw a big check as payback. For example, Kostin is still out after Gudas made him pay for running into the goalie, and it was a clean check with no penalty.

There is nothing wrong with that hit, I hope Bedard has a fast recovery.

I honestly don't think Bedard picked him up, he scanned on entry before bobbling and put his head down catching the front forechecker who sort of covered the view on Smith and just how close he had kept his gap. Smith makes a hit that is absolutely legal in the NHL. He hits center mass, tucks his elbow and doesn't extend his shoulder. I know our fan-base doesn't love him, I think it has been interesting to see him use the more physical part of his game to hang in the league in terms of Smith. He really bounced back from the demotion in New York.

Only reason it is being discussed is because of Bedard. Clean hit on a rookie that hasn't quite learned to keep his head up through traffic.

anyone else thinking the rumored Nylander deal is going to just lock Toronto into good but not great territory?
Feels like they needed to make a move. They missed that window where you win a cup when your guys are cheap. Now they are paying like Tampa but with zero cups.

Crazy how Treliving threw a friggen bomb at Calgary's cap structure and somehow got a job at one of the top NHL franchises. Shanny really bungled it.

That deal eats up more than the raise in cap space for the next season. They have problems now, and the deals to Matthews and possibly Nylander won't help. Their depth will suffer a lot next season. Will get better when Tavares comes off his contract, but they will have to replace his production as well.

They're going to have to trade Marner, right? They're now spending $46+ million on 4 forwards next season.

I think making this deal without losing one of the other big 3 contracts is insane. There is something to be said about cap structure and team makeup. Nylander deserves the deal but I don't think Tor does anything without addressing their defense and goaltending. You need cap space to do that and they already don't have it.
