Not that I really follow players personal lives but I didn't even know they were expecting. Definitely heartbreaking.

And honestly brave of them to be public about it because many people suffer through this and it's rarely talked about.
this is the second time its happened to them too. so sad

Stamkos strikes me as the kind of player that, if he ever leaves Tampa, has enough skill and enough of a name that somebody will grossly overpay for him and immediately regret the results of the twilight of his career.

I still like the player. I'm just not optimistic that he could ever be had by the usual Yzerman discount type of deal.

Stamkos at 7 mil for 4 years or 6 x 5 to Detroit? That would be huge. He could replace Perron in the offseason, or replace Kane if Kane is not realgud.

I'd be down for that, but I doubt he'll want to leave the good thing he has going in Tampa Bay. He loves playing with Kuch and playing for Cooper. His whole family is down here. He's massive in the community. Etc, etc, etc.

Fuuuuuuuuu. That explains his roster status, and that is awful. This happens way more than a lot of people realize, but that makes it no less crushing for couples who endure it. My heart goes out to them.
About 10-20% of them ends in miscarriages, and that's only the known ones.

yup. I have doctors in the family and one is an OB. It's something like 50% of women who have been pregnant have experienced a miscarriage (don't quote me on that but it was shockingly high).

It's good that players are taking time off for this sort of thing to grieve and take care of their mental health. It's not like miscarriages have just started happening but I feel like the only times I hear about players taking time off has been in the last 5 years or so.

It sure does. We had 2 before our first kid and another in between our first and second kid. It is rough for sure.

I'm sorry, man. My wife and I were lucky, but just about all of the rest of the women in my life I'm close to have experienced at least one. I'm very close to my sister, and I've seen how rough it can be.

My folks adopted me because my mom had multiple miscarriages before I was adopted. I guess some medical thing advanced after I was adopted and she had some type of surgery to correct whatever the issue was and I now have two younger brothers. But yeah the news he mentioned about I felt sorry about to hear.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I used to fantasize about momentarily trading places with a player just so I could do this to certain opponents. Now the fantasy has a lighter slash and slightly higher aim (maybe therapy does work).

Shoutout to Brendan intrusive thoughts Smith I guess.

This is I feel fighting has a place in the game at the pro level… I’d much rather see 2 guys dropping the mitts to settle their differences instead of taking a baseball swing at an opponent.

It goes to show what a joke the George Parros wheel of justice is.

Trouba tried to decapitate someone and got a fine.
Smith gives a guy a two hander across the fore arms and is given 2 games.
