Avs can only offer 5.5 M because of Makar's upcoming deal and I think they are gonna go after Jones.
Landeskog won't get 9M, but given his stature and reputation, I think there are GM's who will offer 7M.
Blues are rumored to be hot after him, willing to overpay. He's tight with OREilly.
Would be a good add for them.

miro heiskanen just set the bar for Makar and the like...it starts at 8.5 mil boys!

And if success means Cup, even fewer work. And if you're expecting multiple Cups, even fewer than that work. Like the Caps, I'm sure they were expecting more than 1, with maybe the best goal scorer in history on the team. Certainly 1 before as late as they finally got one, which was after a cap purge, with nobody necessarily expecting anything. That 1 is more than SJ has though. However, what SJ had been able to do up until a few years ago isn't easy to do. You don't see too many teams that competitive for that amount of time. But, no Cup, so ultimately irrelevant.

In a way, sort of like Boston post cup 2011. they've always been around, yet you always got the sense there was someone better that they would lose to.

In 2017, Vegas had three 1st rd picks, 6th, 13th, and 15th overall. They've now all been traded, with none of them making a difference on the ice for Vegas, and only one of them having played even a single game for the Knights.

What was the return they got for trading them away? If they upgraded their team, then its a win. So they basically traded Glass for Patrick? Patrick, with all his hype in Philly, really has done nothing. That -30 this year is really spectacular!

Sort of like this, but contracts. what is that now, 7 bad contracts they've aquirred over the years?

Neither has Glass. When Stephenson went down and their power play was struggling, and Glass didn’t get a look, I knew he was done. His supposed strength was running a power play. I don’t think Glass has looked good at all in the NHL.

I don’t trust AV as a coach, he seems like a chump. He’s never felt like a players coach to me. Torts is a hardass but there are dozens of players I’ve heard say he’s the best coach they’ve ever had. I haven’t heard anything positive about AV.

I don’t know much of the specifics on Patrick and what went wrong (aside from injuries), but there’s no one in the NHL that knows him better than Kelly McCrimmon. He coached him all 4 years in Brandon. If he can stay healthy I think he’ll be really strong on that team. They do a great job getting the most out of their players.

The other two trades were win now window moves, this is a pretty straight up hockey trade. Might be the ultimate buy low move!

Arizona is the dead team in your fantasy football league that the commissioner manages just to keep it going. What a gong show.

This just reeks of the NHL looking the other way. I can't wait for them to trade for Tarasenko and 2 draft picks for future consideration at a future time, when in the future nobody will remember what they were and just move on.

this 100%. Still pissed that Fletcher hired him less than a week after Quenville signed in FLa. He thought Q was going to sign in Philly. Never interviewed anyone else. AV is the main reason the Flyers have failed, starting with the playoffs last year, where he was outcoached...again. He openly critized Hart, which only added to his issues. Also critical of Myers , Patrick, all affected, like most young players, by his lack of ability or insight. He's stealing money. This is year 3 of his 5 yr deal and I hope when they are failing by Jan, he's gets fired, but I doubt it.

You're right about McCrimmon and I'm sure that was a factor. Patrick will do fine in a healtier environment. Myers is gonna be terrific in Nashville.
I like Torts and hope he lands another job. Players seem to thrive and love playing for him.

How can you waive it only for the expansion draft. If Price waives it, it's gone.

That's what I thought, but multiple outlets are saying, no it's just for the expansion draft. Are these considered special circumstances? Is there some exception specifically for expansion draft?
