Only because he's not what he used to be. In terms of criticism, I doubt he would care. He's old, and has his Cups.

On the other hand, why would Montreal trade for him?

If Jonathan Quick played in MTL they would have made him a 1st ballot HOFer in 2012. Instead he's the worst goalie in the league.

It doesn’t make much sense to part ways with him given where the franchise is but I can understand if he wants to move on to a contender to finish out his career.

I would love to see him do that, go to a team like the Canes, who have a great group of 6 d, top forwards, effective system and terrific coach and need a goalie whose withstood all the playoff wars, ot's , game 7's, pressure etc. He could be a difference maker in a Cup run

Gonna go out on not so much of a limb and say Seattle is actually gonna be BETTER than VGK was and they'll be this year's division leaders.

I find the roster projections very unimpressive BUT the ultimate intangible factor is the massive anger and grudge these guys will have, just like Vegas (Golden Misfits). You just can’t replicate that elsewhere to this scale. They’ll probably be a playoff team because this division is absolute ass. I’ll say 85 points.

It doesn’t look too good based on the rumoured players selected but let’s see what the side deals and upcoming UFA period yield.

You would have to think they circle back on a guy like Hamilton.

Would no state tax help them out in potentially swaying some guys to sign? Possibly.
