Isn't the Coyotes / Flyers trade exactly the kind of trade Bettman has vetoed in the past? It's not a hockey trade. Arizona sends nothing back. Hasn't Bettman insisted that something go the other way? Even a lower/mid level prospect. But it has to be a real trade. I mean, I don't care. But this is the kind of thing he has said won't fly, isn't it?

Maybe it depends on the context of the trade? If Arizona is the team taking on a player, while getting a pick, you know the Flyers are going to use that new found space to add a player. If it was the other way around, you couldn't trust Ari to try, so they have to get something back.

Kinda hard to pass that up when our D can't score either. He had more goals than the rest of the Dmen combined outside of Doughty, and would've been 2nd on the team in scoring.

Terrible trade. Nedeljkovic was good for them, a young goalie showing lots of promise. By all means, what the Canes really needed was another backup goalie. Good Lord....

I liked Ghost and hope he does well in AZ. He was a terriic rookie with alot of promise, then in his 2nd year, Haks hacked at him and did some damage. AV hated him. So I think on a new team, new start he'll do fine.

I'm not big on constantly changing coaches (I don't want the Toddfather going anywhere), but AV seems like such a troublemaker. It seems like there's a rift between him and everyone!

I've never liked him and am still annoyed he gota 5 yr deal. He is , I think, the main reason why the Flyers failed last year and in the playoffs the year before. Not only because he's not a good coach but far too openly critical of young players, bad mouthing them to the media. Never goes in the lockeroom, questionable decision making and ineffective system. I think there is an issue with the players and that won't go away.
Can't wait until the Flyers are straddling 6th place in Jan and he gets fired.

Honestly, I think while Seattle doesn't project to be as good as the VGK were they still put together decent bones to build on and things aren't over yet. Their defense and goaltending look good and their forward depth is pretty decent. They are going to add some decent prospects here soon and they have a ton of cap space to headhunt a few higher-end forwards and with that they may be competitive here soon.

Feels like Carolina wasn't sold on Nedeljkovic or at least at the price he could have commanded in arbitration. I remember there being talk about Aaron Dell being a possible target as a starting goalie circa 2018 and the wheels kinda came off quickly. Rumor going around that they had a trade on table for John Gibson at the deadline but they got cold feet. Perhaps that's something they revisit or they could target somebody else as the starter.
