They will. The Oilers deserve credit for making it this far, and our loser team is still a bunch of losers.

But until they win the Cup they aren't really winners as a team either. At least McDrai are generally highly productive in the playoffs.
lol that finals debut not looking so productive for the 2 of them either

Everyone:
Last year’s Florida cup final appearance : we need to build like this team.

Everyone:
This year’s Edmonton cup final appearance: we don’t need to build a team like this.
The difference is nothing Edmonton did to get here is sustainable. An undeniably easy path coupled with a record setting PP and PK with refs handing out penalties like cupcakes

They kept showing the o-zone possession numbers in favour of the Oilers and I kept thinking how chaotic things are when the Oilers are defending. Florida can lose that stat every time because of how well they defend and still have Bob covering what they allow.
McDavid would carve up that Oiler defense like a Christmas turkey if he played for the Panthers.

And this is why mitch marner needs to get the F outta this team. period!

Almost like some of us said you can’t flip a switch and expect to be good at a different brand of hockey when you didn’t practice it at all. Beautifully said Maurice

The amount of sad Oilers fans walking past my place in Calgary right now is glorious.

The issue with that stat is it includes special teams. The number was inflated for the Oilers because they had at least 5 PP min in their zone

nice one nostradamus (not meant as sarcasm :P )
Thanks, just a lucky guess, lol.

Gotta give Maurice and Zito credits for developing a whole bunch of Mental Giants

they showed us alright. They only lost by 1 tonight!
They also beat them in the 3rd as they won 2-0. On top of that, they scored as many goals in the 3rd as the previous 8 periods. They are right there and close. Just hope they learned all their lessons.

if oilers were in the atlantic not sure they'd get much farther than the leafs. at least their stars show up tho
not really showing up against an atlantic opponent

3 gp 0g 3a 0+/-
3 gp 0g 0a -2

That’s really the biggest difference between our two franchises. Oilers roster is full of crap and bad contracts but when push comes to shove McDavid and Draisaitl go off in the playoffs and score like gangbusters. Like we consider Nylander a good playoff performer but that’s only in comparison to Matthews and Marner who are abysmal in the postseason. Comparing Nylander to the two Oilers stars and it’s a wide gap.
hows their scoring holding up against the atlantic division?
