I mentioned this in the Vancouver GDT but Byfield has been pretty invisible these past few games.

If any combination of Vilardi/Fiala are out for the playoffs, we absolutely need Byfield to step the f*** up. This is his opportunity.

I totally agree...but this is where him not playing in the playoffs last year hurt his development.

It's easy to find ice and fly around vs. non playoff teams.

We've just played several playoff-implication tight-checking games in a row and this is his opportunity to spin the rubik's cube again and figure some things out--an opportunity he did not get in the AHL OR NHL this time last year because 4D chess

i guess it was much more useful to have them play in neither the NHL game 7 OR the AHL playoffs

It's expected as they are helping themselves. It's a real race to the bottom, a lot of those teams are using "evaluation mode" to play rookies and other inexperienced players. But hey, they are still trying.
