Brendan Lemieux has 6 points in 11 games but he can’t play under TM anymore.
Lemieux overachieved last year and seemed
To have worn out his welcome (again), but I am still yet to see what MacEwan brings to an NHL team.

He reminds me of guys the Kings used to pick up at the deadline who just kind of take up space. Kelly Buchnberger, Jeff Halpern etc.

The descriptions given by Flyers fans have been pretty spot on.

Calgary just gasping for air, had to come back against one of the worst in the league just to stay afloat.

I don't think I've seen the Ducks this bad, like ever. A buddy of mine had season seats for the first 5 seasons or so, even though he was a fan of another team. I used to go with him often and while those teams were pretty bad, they were nothing like this. Minus one hundred and f***ing twenty-two. They aren't as bad as Detroit was a few years back but that's just nuts.

I've never seen a goalie that was so good fall off at 26 years old like Gibson has. The team isn't helping him out, but when Stolarz and Dostal have better numbers than your $6.5M goalie, it's a large problem. Paying goalies and watching them fall apart must be a So Cal thing. He's young enough to turn it around, but it's been 4 years of slogging, not sure he ever will at this point. There is a little hope with Minty, Zellweger, and whoever they get this year, but I'm not overly impressed with their forward prospects outside of the ones already up. They could probably get something decent for Fowler but Silfverberg has been poor.

They seriously couldn't have gotten a more unimpressive group of transition guys if they tried, so they are definitely doing that part right. Way better than the shitshow Sharks, who decided to start winning down the stretch to screw up their hard-earned draft spot.

They were focused on the PDO podcast not long ago. Essentially they have zero structure. A team filled with players only playing for themselves and looking for highlight plays. With no structure at all it is like a beer league team.

Ducks f***ing suck. Was like 2 months ago where their fans were saying they don’t think the kings are better than them. Can’t even pretend to root for them cos they are so damn awful.

So they're living up to their namesake. Nice.

Eakins is a total mess, even though they are a rival they are stupid if they keep him. A coach like Terry Murray would do wonders for that team.

The Ducks are in a better spot than teams like Nashville or St. Louis are. Better to be God awful than in the black hole.

They will get an elite player to add to what they have. Much like the Kings in 07/08 it hurts to go through that, but the prize at the end is worth it.
Or they could become Buffalo. Not being in the black hole isn’t always good either.

The Ducks (and any team who is on the verge of a lottery pick) still need to do more to make adding an elite player be worth it. Edmonton added multiple first overall picks in a row and didn't get anywhere until they added McDavid.

It's easy to be bad and gather picks. We saw that from the Kings. What's important is what they do once they draft these players.

True, that could happen, but the most tried and true way to build a championship team is to draft elite players, and that is much easier to do picking 1-5 than picking 10-15.

Makes you wonder when the league will start fining/suspending this more often league-wide

This is the worst part of the game that should be cleaned up. I think each month the NHL should publish the flop of the month player and the associated vid (I guess voted on by the press). That should keep guys honest.

Maybe, but I'm not convinced that was a full on flop......he spun to shoot it, got low, got pushed, followed through and lost balance gliding backwards on his one leg....is that a penalty to Toronto not a chance in hell..( don't know if they called one) but don't think it was a dive either....just physics.

Yes for that one, it wasnt clear cut at all it - but does seem a little off - not sure what. Thats why I think it should be over a period of a month, so you can find some obvious dives. Of course every embellishment penalty qualifies, but plenty of ones that were missed. For the winner, they should show realtime and slow mo, so you can see if it was hard to tell at full speed. Another thing they could do, is allow a challenge on embellishment similar to the offside - ie you're wrong its a penalty. That would actually be pretty cool, id enjoy that challenge.

It's off because you rarely see an NHL player fall that way...in general lol......

No...no...no...no...no...no no more challenges....sorry just tired of it all, offsides, 3 minutes ago, yes, the sliver of a blade of gnat wing was off, no goal.....etc, review for GI, absolutely.....that I get, anything else,....just screw off lol

I hate the offside one. It seems a bit too anal to reverse on an offside. But to me catching an embellishment does seem hockey..its not much different than figuring out if its a minor or major high stick. Anything that keeps the sport away from the soccer aspect of acting is a win to me.

Embarrasment won't work, if they are gonna dive, they don't give a flying f***all about being embarrased.....two hander on the wrists.....that's your deterrent.....

Maybe I’m alone here but he just looks like he fell backwards, that doesn’t look like a dive to me. It’s like leaning back too far in a chair. You can only lean back on skates so far before you fall like that.

Speaking of Stutzle...

Byfield had a golden opportunity for a grade-A shot last night coming in off the wing but instead wound up passing back to a player who didn't even receive it. :ha:

I mentioned this in the Vancouver GDT but Byfield has been pretty invisible these past few games.

If any combination of Vilardi/Fiala are out for the playoffs, we absolutely need Byfield to step the f*** up. This is his opportunity.
