I'll give MacEwan the benefit of the doubt until he gets the jaw protector removed. Can't fight with it on and I'm sure it interferes with puck-handling vision.

Top western teams over the last 10

LA , since TDL have not allowed more than 2 goals against a game , Gavrikov stabilized the D with a LD-RD rotation and no one playing on their off side.

LA last 10, 8-0-2 18 points, 41 GF , 21 GA ( not counting SO goals) +20 GF

Edmn last 10, 8-2-0 16 points, 47 GF , 39 GA (not counting SO goals) +8 GF

Dallas last 10, 6-3-1, 13 points , 48 GF , 38 GA +10 GF

Vegas last 10, 8-2-0 , 16 points , 39 GF , 38 GA +1 GF

Col last 10 7-2-1, 15 points , 40 GF , 27 GA +13 GF

So LA in the last 10 games have the most points(18), no regulation losses, and the best goal differential (20).

Plenty of games left but right now LA is playing slightly better than the other top western teams.

none of these teams are "resting" as they all need the points to gain home ice or even just make the PO's.

BRING EM ON

I’ll never stop being annoyed by Vegas just waltzing into the league and being handed a top team for years.

they took advantage of what was put in front of them. Teams learned and Seattle didn't have it as easy.

Vegas annoys me but not sure why

Nobody likes suffering for most of their adult lives before finally having their team win a Cup only to see a new team--in the division--go to the SCF in Year 1. That's just natural.

Why I really hold it against them and their fans is that their fans became the worst visitors at Staples. I hope they don't sniff another SCF for 30 years.

What was put in front of them was something no other expansion team was ever given. Imagine how Columbus fans feel.

And while Seattle didn’t do quite as well, they’re still about to reach the playoffs in their second season which is pretty damn good.

I.E.
Arizona has been a 100 point team since sitting Chychrun, and Ottawa has self-destructed since adding him when they were on a heater trending for a playoff spot without him.

Sure small sample sizes and coincidences and all that but plenty of us saying he's not worth it.

EV being even strength i assume? not that it really matters, those are tragic numbers no matter what situation. pretty much in line with what all the people were saying who aren't obsessed with the nameplate. meanwhile in gavrikov-land...

Is it me or are the Oilers still outscoring their problems, despite the deadline acquisitions?
Edmonton has to score a lot of goals, because their goaltending sucks.

I bet there are nights when McDavid or Draisaitl scores the tying or go-ahead goal, only to see their goaltending let them down again. As a scorer, when you work hard to score a big goal, only to have your goaltender or defense let you down moments later, it can be tough.

Arizona was sheltering the hsit out of him and putting himi in positions to showcase him. He is still a great top 4 D on a good contract. My issue was always injury concerns and cost.

If LA re-signs Gavrikov I like the fit better

Ekholm is going to do wonders for that D, and I don't think the lost anything in Barrie that Bouchard cannot do.

However their goaltending is still concerning...so maybe? Too early for me to tell.

Slippery slope. The Kings were gift wrapped a franchise HoF center at 11th overall in 2005.

Everyone gets lucky. Plus, to be honest, I know people here hate Vegas fans, but the team has been really good for the city overall, both financially and culturally. They were unfairly denied a pro sports team for decades and they finally got one that was good right away. Who honestly cares
