Vegas is getting on my nerves.

Are they going to lose another game?
Not in the regular season, and then they’re going to win the Cup with a 16-3 record going up 3-0 in every series except winning on home ice in Game 5 (1 better than our Game 6 win not having home ice) of the Finals versus New Jersey with Quick winning his second Conn Smythe.

That has to be it for Calgary. I assume fire Sutter, and what try to move the contracts? Or do you double down and hope the coach is the issue?

Treliving has been GM since 2014, I assume he's going down with the ship at this point and time to blow it all up.

Trying to think of anyone with links there and no one is popping into my head.

I can see them not going for a retread though - maybe someone like Sean Burke? MacFarland?

Blake probably would have moved him directly to Vegas, if they had what we needed. Much closer to home for JQ.
Almost certain Blake knew Quickie might end up in Vegas but what's more important ike you said, is getting what the Kings need in Korpi and Gav. A 2nd rd matchup with Vegas will be epic.

That or just consistent reps. 1 start every 2 plus weeks wasn't helping. Also, Vegas has a much better defense and probably never has to worry about Durzi passing up the middle.

They're stuck trying again for at least another year. Even if the smart thing to do is not care that next year is the first year of the giant Huberdeau contract, and try and get some value from guys you can trade, that's just not going to happen. If they're out again next year, they'll have a lot of pieces to trade at the deadline, and then they'll probably try to try again by adding guys for 24-25.

You can advance stats stuff all you want, but my eyes have yet to see one player slip by 4 Vegas defenders and score a goal over his shoulder. Or watch Petro back into him as the shots coming knocking him off his stance and it goes in. Or have a guy with all day to clear it , then turn it over as the others leave the middle wide open, with no one covering him. 3 different examples of goals he gave up on his last roadtrip as a King. My point has always been they defend differently, and they do. He's 4-0 now, and it's not just his play alone. In his 4 starts Vegas has scored 17 goals. As a King in his final 4 starts, 11 goals , with 6 coming in one game.

“Number of scoring chances allowed per game” is not “advance stats stuff.” That’s actually pretty basic stuff. If you’re going to say that Vegas’s defense is so much better, maybe some quantifiable support for that would be called for.

seeing quick that deep is strange

wonder if that's been a coaching adjustment, i'd expect him way high contesting that shot

I don’t really have an issue with junior aged players not being allowed to fight, it seems a bit twisted to watch teenagers beat each others brains in when most won’t play beyond that level.

I think it would be unfortunate if the NHL ever completely did away with fighting. I think we have settled into a nice spot now where most of the staged nonsense is done but there are still instances where fighting serves a purpose.
