I don't have any problem with Gabe's comments.
I don't either as long as he does something to Lizotte the next time they play. Of course, that might mean simply throwing one body check since he has zero in three games this season and 66 in 155 career regular season games.

Love Vilardi's skill and always have. Some guys seem like complete dorks or weirdos on the Kingsvision stuff during TV timeouts and he took the cake last season. Airing this in the media and then saying it is between the two of them totally tracks based on what I've seen from him...kind of an awkward dude.

I don't understand your logic.

Well these are young guys and they're kind of being put in a socially awkward position IMO.
The logic is that this is a sport where beef can be settled. If he doesn't try to settle it, then he comes off like the whiny bitch he is being accused of on this board.

As for the socially awkward part, those that are already socially awkward are going to come off that way. He is socially awkward.

Corey Perry released a statement today (I saw it on youtube, so don't have a twitter link). He mentioned getting help for alcohol problems. He also denied that any of this had anything to do with his teammates or their families.

I always despised Corey Perry, but I do hope he is able to overcome his alcohol problems.

Edit: 'Alcohol-fueled incident' reportedly led to Corey Perry's release by Blackhawks

Here we go, found a link.

Yeah. Big player on a rival, but hopefully he gets the help he needs.

I'm still questioning how a player getting help for an illness and apparently not breaking a law could have his contract ended in these circumstances.

really is confusing that his contract was able to be terminated. The fact there has not been an appeal is interesting as well.

Gotta be more that we aren't privy too.....and I'm good with that, I really don't need to know the particulars

The article said that the incident occurred at an event with corporate partners and team employees. I can only speculate that he arrived drunk, which led to some kind of an "incident" with a team employee.

So perhaps there was a verbal or physical altercation? And if so, maybe the individual decided not to press charges? Again, this is pure speculation on my part.

Pissing off a corporate partner sounds like something that'd get you terminated quickly.

surely there are clauses within the contract about conduct detrimental to the org or something along those lines. probably about a million non-illegal ways to materially breach your contract when you're sloshed at a corporate event

Man wish they would have took Roy and a 3rd in 2025 Gavrikov and Zadorov would have been straight up nasty!
Zadarov is a lefty.. based on cap we couldnt afford him.. but he wouldve been excellent where Englund is playing.. Englund doing fine so not a big deal.. but I wanted Kings to get him or Soucy in the off season.

i'm not sure i'd want z even if we could afford him but for a team with cap space, a 3rd and a 5th for a 2nd/3rd pairing defenseman rental is kind of a no brainer

holy crap zadorov to nucks for a 3rd and a 5th

Insurance for Soucy. I originally wanted him before he re-signed w/ Calgary.

"The Canucks are expected to be without defenseman Carson Soucy for another 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury after he blocked a shot with his left foot during a 5-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens"

Glad Edmonton wasn't in on this.

Yup. F*ck Edmonton.
