thats awesome for him .. im pretty sure everyone here wishes durz the best
Durzi has improved this year, he's definitely growing a bit. We all know that offensively he's a wizard.

Here is why he was expendable as a RD:

High danger chances for vs against

Gavrikov 54 vs 35
Spence 46 vs 25
Durzi 49 vs 50

I loved his attitude and his offense, but my nerves were shot. Yeah, Arizona isn't great at high danger as a team, but that's totally Durzi's style. On the Kings his relative high danger was always right there with Anderson and Doughty, who faced the best on a nightly basis. The only other negative relative player was Edler, who was still a lot better than Durzi at it.

I always felt Durzi could be a 50pts+ Dman, but he needed to be put in the right situation. That was never going to happen here.

On a Leafs-centric podcast I listen to, they were lamenting the fact they paid Klingberg 4M, instead of giving up a 2nd for Durzi.

Moving Durzi was defnately the right move. He is a NHL calibre d, love the passion he plays with but LA needed room for Spence/Clarke. Also needed cap room, and got a decent return for him.

An Arizona 2nd was worth more than a Toronto 2nd, they would have had to added (a 3rd or 4th, maybe a lower tier prospect)

I'd say that a 2nd rounder for a 50 point first pairing defender is a pretty sweet deal for the Yotes. Perfect place for Durzi too. He gets plenty of experience to iron out some of his wrinkles while being "the guy" on a team on the rise without immediate expectations.

The Kings made room for two better assets at lower costs.

Good deal all-around.

Yes. And it would have been worth it. Especially to a cash strapped team like TML.

You don’t really see organizations often trade for players they previously traded away though.

Gudas would have also been a massively better option for them over Klingberg. He probably wanted term though. That hasn’t deterred Treliving in the past.

I never shat on Durzi; he's young, can get shots through, and has a giant nut sack.

None of our current D have all three of those qualities.
He also got overemotional and cost his team in the playoffs. I don't want a player that chases a ref bitching about a missed call while play is still going.

Oilers look to be back
Rude cheapshot by erne and sneaky cheapshots by who else mcdavid and draisaital. The one by erne on bellmare- erne left his feet and shouldered and elbowed bellmare in the head right in front of the ref. 2 min. Looked like 5 and a game with at least a call from the wheel of justice to me. Mcdavid was a sneaky elbow to the head and drysaital's was multiple crosschecks to a prone player.

Gudas got a 3 year, 12 mil deal from the Ducks. That right there is insane enough on its own. They still couldn't afford him.
