his coaching consisted of ride mcdavid, ride draisaitl, if all else fails, load mcdavid and draisaitl together and ride them

i'm not going to bat for him personally but holy shit the nepotism hires. mcdavids junior coach and paul coffey....

this really is true. They need to also get rid of Holland, who's apparent rep with the Wings never rubbed off on the Oilers. He's terrible...Nurses contract @ 9.5 mil per...

Tough night for MAF and the Wild. 7-3 early in the 3rd.

edit: If you're going to try and stop another breakaway, why not charge the guy and take his legs out.2 min of shame for MAF!

Carlsson and McTavish are gonna be a problem for the Kings in the near future, if not this season even. Ducks are suddenly back in the mix

Alex Galchenyuk wildly threatens cops in disturbing arrest video: ‘I’ll kill your wife’

“There’s gonna be one f—king phone call and you’ll never see your f—king family again,” Galchenyuk said. “How scary is that? Holy f—k, one phone call and you’re dead. Your whole f—king bloodline is dead. How nuts is that?”

At one point, Galchenyuk told the black officer, “You know the Russians will make a f—king bolognese out of you, n—a.”

J quick 2nd star of the game in 4-3 shootout win over lumbus
Looks like the Rangers bust is having a pretty good start to the season as well. 2 more goals and game winning shootout winner. With our own bust having a good start as well, just gotta be patient with these kids.

Hey Jay did do some good in Edmonton once!

Crazy concept, huh?

@Herby , do you agree with this approach?

It's so funny you post this like it's some kind of "gotcha moment"

I know you don't actually read anything I ever type and defer to the voices in your head and whatever they tell you myself and others say.

But this is what I said a year and a half ago

NHL. 56 NHL games in a no pressure situation. He wouldn’t have been dominant, he might have even struggled as badly as he has this year. But 56 games experience learning the speed of the game and getting over the culture shock of playing in the NHL.

So to answer your question, yes I agree with what the Ducks are doing with their 18 year old top 3 pick because it's quite similar to what I said a year and a half ago. There are culture shock and other factors that aren't going to be addressed in the AHL. Having him in the NHL and adjusting to the life of a pro hockey player in what is likely going to be a throw away year (Anaheim won't keep this up) is certainly a worlds better development path than spending an entire season as a teenager in the AHL.

Discussing hockey with you is about on par with discussing Quantum Physics with my 9 year old.

i like what the quacks are doing and how ther'e doing it. pat verbeek , the little ball of hate, started building with toughness and defense. he gets it that defense wins championships. the additions of goudas and alex killorn tell that these guys will take no s**t while they are teaching players like high end draft picks drysdale, terry and others how to do it at the nhl level.
this team is going to provide some real battles for us and we need to be ready. unlike some familiar mgmt teams verbeek didnt forget about the physicality, toughness and defense factors in winning in the "new" nhl.

Wow, what's your problem?

No, it wasn't a gotcha moment, the tweet specifically called out the approach as being 'different' and I know you have a lot to say about development strategies...so I was curious what your opinion was on it. Thanks.

I absolutely love it

there's a very apparent vision and it manifested immediately, no 'well what is he SUPPOSED to do'

very well articulated and open development plan for their top guys while also playing them in the roles theyre supposed to be in

magnificent drafting record to go on top of it

AND they're already competitive, but I guess it's because they've drafted 9 McDavids if you go by Yanetti, imagine that luck

There's not one way to build a franchise but I think it's apparent to everyone they're nailing it on all fronts right now AND have the money and assets to burn still.

You have never in your entire time as a member of this community wished to engage anybody in an actual hockey discussion, and instead resort to trolling, tagging people in posts and saying people aren't fans of the team. Sorry that I won't give you the benefit of the doubt on the one time you apparently want to have an adult discussion.

The high picks this year are all in the NHL, and will be better for it.

Top 2 pick forwards since 2010 not drafted by the Kings

22 total picks
21 made the team out of camp at 18
20 stuck in the NHL at 18
21 never played a game in the AHL
1 played a 3 game AHL rehab assignment.

There is a consensus around the league on how to handle players you thought enough of to take #2 overall in the draft.

Yup, totally loaded Top 3. There is a reason some wanted to continue the rebuild through that draft.

Going back again to 2010. I would say Fantilli goes #1OA in

2010
2011
2012
2014
2017
2020
2021
2022

And Columbus gets him at #3. The goal he scored last night is his trademark move. There are just very few players in the league who can release it that quick and get that kind of velocity while on the move. He's going to be a special player.

Give me a break. Can they even grind in the corners?
