If Kassian looks like how he played against the Kings in the playoffs two years ago then him. I’ve not seen a single player crush as many Kings players as him. Didn’t the Kings have many shoulder injuries after the playoffs against Edmonton two years ago from all his hits? I remember that information coming out. I know Durzi was one of them for sure.

think he has fallen off a cliff, but ya I would rather him than Simmonds. Not sure about over Lewis as I like Lewis on PK which we will need with Iafallo gone.

It's worse that his new job is in the WHL with young kids instead of back in the NHL with (mostly) adults. Gotta wonder what the hell is wrong with hockey that they couldn't find literally ANYONE else.

Its an old boys club of folks always trying to a solid for someone they know. Very few new ideas or approaches ever happen to this sport.

The Oilers have bullied the Kings for two years. Why not sign Kassian to run over Kane, Nurse, etc.
because he would never be able to catch them, and if he did it would be a blindside hit likely costing LA the game.
See the ducks signed him to a PTO anyway

Even more slimy is that another coach reached out to Aliu to broker an apology on Peters' behalf:

**** Peters.

Peters has tried to apologize but Aliu does not feel it is genuine and will not take the call or allow for it. Which I think is completely fair and 100% up to Akim. This is why a different coach tried to bridge the gap.

One one hand sure sounds like Peters at least was a POS, on the other should he be punished his whole life? I am pretty split, but if Akim is not ready to forgive than I think his second chance should be differed till he does....which maybe never.

face punchers who suck. More concerned with the Reign playing the Gulls.

The issue for me is that we as a society often applaud people when they turn their lives around after doing things that (sorry to say) were a lot more damaging than anything Bill Peters did. Someone who commits a felony and gets out of prison and turns their life around and does the right thing is cheered on (which I think is great), but we don't show the same kind of forgiveness for people who say the wrong things, and I find that pretty hypocritical. I have met Akim Aliu a couple of times, as he has become friends with one of my friends from HS, I don't think he wants to let this ever go, partially because he truly was hurt, and partially because he is making money now from this. No one ever wants to bring it up, but Peters name being in the news is good for business.

The racism industrial complex.

You've got a bunch of people making money off fighting racism now, so it's in their best interest to have more of it.

Doesn’t matter if they suck or not. If they take out someone then they’re doing their job.

How much is anyone profiting from fighting racism in ice hockey? Is it some kind of money maker?

Ducks now have Carrick, Gudas and Kassian on a PTO.

They obviously value their young and high priced players.

Kings have Englund. That's it. Helenius will be in the AHL again, Doty is on an AHL deal, and Hodgson - I really hope he makes the team otherwise Kempe, Danault and PLD (over 20 million in salaries) will be fighting and putting their heads and hands at risk.

Kings have young high priced players? This is still 2023, not 2011 right?

AA has a book deal with Kaepernick publishing. It's very likely that Bill Peters being back in the news this week put some $$$ in AA's pocket.

I think that book deal is worth less than Bill Peters KHL and WHL earnings plus HFBoards ad revenue combined. I doubt AA is suddenly buying an island in the Caribbean in this lifetime.

I don't think Bill Peters has done anything to show he is not still a piece of shit. It's pretty simple, there's no need for overarching/sweeping social commentary.
