Simmonds was my favorite King when he was traded but at this point I don't see who LA should waive to make room for him if he were to make the team
I think there will be rotation of players like JAD, Fagemo, and Hodgson in and out of the line-up.

I don't foresee a 4th line of Grundstrom-Lizotte-Lewis doing anything either scoring wise or physically. It's a pretty weak line.

If Grundstrom can bring some consistency to his game, I think the 4th line is two thirds of a good 4th line.

Kings need a RW'er. Lewis might make a decent placeholder, but he doesn't bring all the attributes we need in his spot. Especially at his age.

This could be somewhat similar to the Eichel/Sabres situation. A 25 year old elite center that would have to be traded. Eichel was locked into a contract already though.

Trevor Lewis should not have a guaranteed spot in the line-up.

Same goes for Grundstrom who likes to disappear every 5 games.
I'd be surprised if there wasn't some rotation of guys like Grundstrom, Lewis, JAD, and Fagemo to start the season until someone earns a full time role (although Lewis and the PK will give him a shot of being an immediate regular). Even then, bringing in Simmonds for anything more than a camp body seems like a bad idea based on watching him last year

I said centers though.

PLD also not in the same category as Eichel and Pettersson.

And if Pettersson does become available, it won't be in a two year span of Eichel.
You said centers after Kudelski answered your question of "who are the other 3?"

Tha Canucks are capped out, not exactly young young, haven't done anything in a decade other than in the covid year, they really have no chance of winning beyond getting hot for a couple weeks, and they already have their top player talking about getting out. The smart thing to do would be to say, we're scorching this Earth, trade Pettersson now while he has a good cap hit, and start a real rebuild. Of course they're a pro hockey team though, so they won't do that until forced to.

We could exchange "Canucks" with "Kings" and nobody would notice

Pettersson is already getting paid 10.25M this coming season.

102pts last year, while also being very good defensively. He'll be 25 years old at the time of his new contract. He's going to be expensive if he has another similar season.

I don't think it's impossible Vancouver has a good year though. Always difficult to tell in the cap era. They need Demko to return to form obviously.

Simmonds did not look good the last few years. The way he played took a toll on his body.

I would eye Kassian (who has a history with TM) or Nick Ritchie as a PTO instead. Both are younger.

If Kassian looks like how he played against the Kings in the playoffs two years ago then him. I’ve not seen a single player crush as many Kings players as him. Didn’t the Kings have many shoulder injuries after the playoffs against Edmonton two years ago from all his hits? I remember that information coming out. I know Durzi was one of them for sure.
