Probably just paying more attention to hockey than other sports--but it feels like there are a LOT of 2nd/3rd generation NHLers getting drafted eh?

Yep, it’s an expensive sports and those parents can afford it for their kids - all the top end training/coaching/nutrition, etc. Learning from their dad who was a former pro is a huge advantage as they know what it takes to get there. I’m sure the name recognition never hurts and it’s likely helped just a tad along the way.

I'm a fan of the Titty.

Look at all those Iginla fans!

it hopefully doesn't make people feel TOO bad, I mean these guys were 'growing up' a year or two ago

I think it was...Chabot? someone soon after the 2014 Cup that said they idolized Doughty

Lot of players dumped to CHI town for hardly anything... Blake could have unloaded Petersen / Walker for a lot less.

I get that Blake needed to do this to get Gavrikov under contract (and I guess the whole PLD trade) but he has no long term vision like DL did.

It also means your getting old! I started noticing this too the last few drafts, thinking to myself, "I watched this kid's dad get drafted and play an entire career, now this. Damn I'm old."

Please. If Blake were GM in Chicago he would have been the one sending the 2nd to NY to take Bailey.

Klim Kostin and Yamamoto were traded today to Detroit. Does that mean our chances at beating the Oilers improved?
