Been reading reports that Seattle may buy out Dreiger. Jones will likely not be back. Not sure if they will sign Daccord to backup Grubauer or if he will be available as he is a UFA July 1st.

I've never been a fan of Drieger but he has NHL experience and would be a cheap option for us. Seattle doesn't really know what they have with him because he rehabbed most of the year and only got 3 starts with the Firebirds.

Growing up near Calgary got to watch a lot of Vernon. He would make the highlight save and get the building going more often than not. His numbers do not scream HOF to me, but if 2 cups and one conne smythe is the base I know another Goalie I would like to see in.

All these players not re-signing in Calgary, seven UFA's after next season and so far four of them (including their top two centers) are saying they are out.

Are they just thinking about going to the open market next season and cashing in on the cap increase? Is Calgary really that big of a shit hole? What's going on up there?

I think it’s just a super toxic place to be right now. And it is a shit hole as well.

I mean the Calgary players have to see the writing on the wall right? They're out of racetrack, kind of where we expected the Kings to be, yet older--a black hole team that can't get over the hump and doesn't have much promise for change in the system.

That Tkachuk trade was one last kick at the can but they're out of gas now.

Last time Sutter got fired, next year the team’s the #1C could have won the Hart and starting goalie returned to Vezina form. Not sure what 2023-24 Kings fans are happy about with Sutter no longer behind the Flames bench.

Another victory for the intolerant. Go world.
Apparently the en vogue way to get your opinion out now is just to try and drown out the oppositions by sheer volume so nobody wants to be bothered by either side.

If everybody loses, well at least the other guys don't win.

What a stupid world we live in.

They're still having pride nights, and all the specialty nights.

Seems weird to do that but not do the Jerseys.

I think they should leave it up to the teams. And if an individual player doesn't want to do it, so what? They don't have to. The "controversy" will pass in like a week.

My politics are pretty transparent, and I've tried not to be too bullish with throwing my opinionated ass around.

It's most galling to me that those calling out the intolerance are being blamed. Instead of, you know, just admitting that the NHL is ill-equipped or unmotivated to continue pushing the importance of inclusivity.

No pre-worn jerseys for Cancer Awareness. No more pre-worn military jerseys. Heck, what if a legendary player died during the season and a special jersey is made in his honor during warm-ups? Nope. Too bad.

Guess people will just have to be louder and obnoxious during the themed nights, since they won't get special jerseys on those nights.

i think that's the source of the problem more than anything. individual player has now been forced into a position, by the team, where they have to advertise their opinion or do something, right or wrong, they're against. player's association probably has to protect the players here and the league hush-hushed it away. biz as uge.

Players of certain nationalities may be persecuted for participating in those pre-game events. When they opt out it causes a major media storm.

The whole situation is dumb & we can't have nice things because of those countries & people that try and blow everything out of proportion like the Sutter hit piece last week.
