f*** Vegas. It was painful actually cheering for them to beat the Oilers. They really put a lid on the Draisatl experience with him having one assist in the last 4 games of their series. I really hate that guy. I want to punch his face while he's chewing on his f'n mouth piece.

I'm not partial to any other team winning. I can get behind any of them for a variety of reason. Might be unpopular on this board but I wouldn't mind seeing Pavelski win given he's one of the best American born players of this generation.

AGree on Marchment..but...he did f***all this past year.....imagine he performed that way on this team, we'd lose some freaking members, to put it into context, BLAKE LIZOTTE outscored him
He got a nice contract from Dallas...Kings def could not afford him at 4.5 aav without making a move or skipping on Fiala.

I'll say it again. The Dallas Stars are what the Kings are trying to be.

The difference being that Dallas has hit on some of their draft picks, while the Kings are still waiting for thiers to pan out.

That's why I don't really buy this idea that Kopitar and Doughty's presence is stunting anyone. Benn, Seguin, Pavelski, Suter etc didn't stop Johnston or Robertson or Hintz or Heiskanen from developing.

Also, I really wanted Mason Marchment in the offseason. I realize our cap is tight, and we have lots of forwards, but he's the EXACT type of player we could've used on this roster.
Benn had been a regular on their third line for a couple of years now. Pavelski and Suter were just brought in.

Dallas has been languishing in black hole territory for years behind their veteran players. It wasn't until the Hintz and Robertsons hit and provided the incredibly important cost-controlled production IN ROLES THAT FIT THEIR SKILL SETS that their chances started escalating.

This is what the Kings COULD be doing but aren't.

I had the pleasure of going to game 5 in Raleigh while in town for a wedding and I'm sold on that franchise. The game presentation and product was absolutely incredible. At each whistle you get to watch replays of all the big plays on their amazingly beautiful and vibrant jumbotron thing. I love the culture we have built here in LA but the watching the endless distractions of anything but hockey in between whistles has bothered me for a long time. Halfway through the game I realized I hadn't seen a single Claritin commercial on their screen.

It was also pretty cool to sit in that arena and root for the home team without any kind of emotional attachments (my buddy was a wreck) and just enjoy my time. They got a good thing going there from the arena to the coach to the fans and I'm all Canes for the remainder of this playoff.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dallas win their first Cup. Yeah, I know what I typed.
This guy (and me) says that was a stupid rule and had absolutely no impact on Hull's shot going into the net.

Right but it was called to the f***ing letter all season and dozens of big goals weren't counted in the same scenario. For the NHL to just not call it on the biggest play of the entire season is very typical of the league even here today.

Pavelski is his fourth season in Dallas. They lost to Tampa in the final his first year when Robertson only played 3 regular season games and zero playoff games. Your statement doesn't match history.

Feels like a Vegas vs Carolina finals. My pick is Vegas. Which I hate but not because of anything Kings related. Two biggest examples of why the NHL is a bush league is the hard salary cap and an expansion team making the finals in their first year.

Whoever wins, the joke continues. A bunch of mercenaries win while exceeding the cap by $20M. Or a dollar in dollar out cheapskate club wins their second cup. The first being the 2006 cup, aka the first year of the cap.

I challenge anyone to go to a game in Raleigh and then think of a better place to watch an NHL game afterwards. All the way from the ticket prices to the parking to the food to the atmosphere to even getting out of the parking lot and right onto the freeway, it’s just a good time all around. There’s no louder building than PNC Arena come playoff time.

I think Carolina is the team that will win the Cup. They are disciplined, structured in their play and they're intensity matches Brind Armors they're coach.

You're just flat out wrong about some of this stuff. Pavelski has been there for 4 years. Robertson and Hintz hadn't done shit before he got there.

Pavelski, Benn, Seguin all played top 6 minutes this year. Suter is on the top pairing.

Not to mention they had guys like Perry and Radulov playing significant minutes in years prior.

Their young guys are better than ours. That's why they're having more success than them.

It’s tough to compare LA and Dallas.

Their first 3 picks in 2017 are more valuable than all the picks Blake has made from 2017 through 2022. Three legit star players. The Kings have just not been able to draft guys like that under Blake. You can even make the case that Johnston is more valuable than anyone the Kings have taken.

It’s nothing to do with what veterans are around, opportunity or anything like that, they are just better players.

I think we tend to overcomplicate things.

All this talk about leadership, development, culture ect.

Most of the time it just boils down to whether guys are actually good or not.

Byfield and Turcotte wouldn't be lighting it up if they played for Dallas.

You could argue Clarke, had he played this year, (and maybe he should have), would have been an impact player. But Doughty doesn't need to be traded for that to happen.

Doughty plays nearly half a game. Top powerplay unit. Seems like he calls the shots.
No one can come in and command the room with him there so it is hard to turn the page with him on the team unless the coach puts him on the 2nd pair and no more powerplay.

I'm glad Dallas is going to be playing a team that doesn't wear green or teal.

The last 2 series against the Wild and the Kraken have been hard on the eye, It was like a St Patricks Day celebration every game. Finally a splash of color and no green teams remain.

Hoping for the most unlikely of remaining teams to become champions, the Florida Panthers.

When Datysuk and Zetterberg came to the Red Wings, Yzerman, Lidstrom, Shanahan, Hull were all still there. It didn't prevent them from developing. Why would the rookies need to command the room?

Doughty can take the hardest minutes. If anything, it seems like an ideal situation.

Can he? You saw him in that playoff series. There was a game where he was so tired he sat back and practically rolled out the red carpet for Oilers to enter the zone and shoot.
A rookie doesnt need to come in and be the captain. But Clarke and possibly Spence should be given the opportunity to start earning some of his minutes. Especially on the powerplay.
