If this is a step toward the end of blackout restrictions, drinks are on me.
Right? It's such a scam.

I wonder if this is because their app idea ultimately didn't pan out. I believe it was centered around streaming and gambling?
I haven't had a chance to read the article yet.

Good. Sinclair can go F itself.
I'm hoping it's an overall positive for the Wild, but I could see the Wild taking a huge hit in TV revenue from this if their contract gets terminated or renegotiated as part of the restructure. Hopefully that won't affect the on-ice product negatively, if it even happens.

Interesting....

Saw this in the article...
A streaming iteration that charges customers by the game has been discussed.
OH HELL NO!!!!! It's enough that we have Center Ice, but to pull that #$@! with the local teams? It's still criminal that they're messing with fans by putting some games exclusively on Hulu and ESPN+. Keep chasing the fans away, ya freaking hosers.

I think that's just a secondary option, no? Like if you had access to the channel via cable/satellite/streaming already, you still would. It would just mean that if I, as a casual fan reallllly wanted to watch the game against the Blackhawks, I could pay $x to just stream that single game. At least that's my understanding - it just gives casual viewers a cheaper, additional option to watch a game.

If that's the case, then I withdraw my sword.

You’re starting to see teams like the Sabres and Devils finally feel the benefits of their rebuilds. Both teams have players that will be the cornerstone of their franchise for decades to come. Maybe when the buyout period is done, we’ll have hit on a bunch of mid 1sts, have resigned 97 to a big extension, and will be primed with cap space to fill the holes on the team. Or, maybe we’ll look back at a 5 year period with nothing more to show than a couple of playoff berths and a couple of individual franchise records by Kaprizov. Either way, it certainly feels to me like this would’ve been the time to really strip the fat off the team and get as many assets as you can for guys that won’t be on the next great Wild team.

The excuse was definitely there, especially with talent at the top of the 2023, 2024 and 2025 drafts. Just really bad timing.

How many rebuilds have the Sabres had though? It feels like they started the rebuild before Kaprizov was born.

12 years of non playoff hockey, preceded by two one and dones, then another two non playoff years.

NJD have on one playoff appearance in 11 years, a one and done.

You guys want to sign up for that?

Say it ain't so Andrew!

Lol. DUI driving a golf cart.

I'm not sure I've ever driven one sober...

Maybe before hole 3 or 4.

Yeah... it was a golf cart, and he did it after being handed a parking citation... not bright Andrew, not bright at all!

As the deputy was writing out a citation, Brunette, the owner of the golf cart, came out of the bar and told the deputy he was leaving, per the report.

The deputy observed Brunette’s speech was slurred and that he was unsteady on his feet as he handed over the citation.

Seventeen minutes later, the deputy said he saw Brunette leave the area driving the golf cart and observed him run two stop signs, after which a traffic stop was conducted.
On the course, you can do that all you want, on the road? Not so much.
He drove the thing to a fricking bar, got a parking ticket, then ran a stop sign (or two) got ticketed for that, as well as the DUI... during the stop, hands over his wife's driver's license because "he isn't driving"... uh.. Your wife sure as hell wasn't driving the cart Andrew.

Devils lost (1) season after being in the playoffs, ended up going to the Finals the season after that, had a mini rebuild of (5) years and went to the playoffs and then had another mini rebuild of 4 years. The first mini-rebuild they had one lockout, and two winning seasons but didn't make the playoffs. They really hadn't started their rebuild until 2018-2019 when they had four consecutive losing seasons.

Sabres have had a lot of ownership and GM issues; which you are saying that the Wild are going to run into.

Again for every Devils and Sabres team you have:

Dallas, St. Louis, Los Angeles Kings, Chicago Blackhawks.

I didn't realize Talbot was injured again. Reading up on some news regarding the trade deadline, and his name is already floating around. Sens really got the short end of the hockey stick there.

But Guerin was an idiot for trading Talbot

Yeah, if you read his thread on the OTT board, its like a yoyo of good to terrible. Nothing against the guy, but I was not sad to see him go, Gus is a very competent goalie, and its good to finally have one of those, its been so long.
