Of the 6 arenas I've been to the United Center was my least favorite arena to watch a game. The first time going is really cool because of all the Bulls stuff, but any trips after that I'm going to watch hockey and don't want to think about basketball.

There are very few teams non-football sports teams that are immune to bad teams bleeding attendance numbers. Going to a game is just too expensive with tickets, parking, stadium price food/drink, etc. The convivence factor also plays a much larger role than it did even a few years ago. TVs are better, entertainment is more accessible and has more options, not waiting in line for everything, not having to go outside in crappy weather, etc.
I really love live hockey games…there’s so much you don’t see on tv. So much skill and so much subtle nastiness that doesn’t come through in a broadcast.

I agree, but I'm not paying $100 to go see this Wild team as it currently is. If it didn't have Kap then I wouldn't pay $50 to go see it live. They still mail me season ticket stuff every year, and I haven't had season tickets for several years now. I look at the picture, say "neat," then in the bin it goes.

There is enough local hockey I can watch live for much cheaper and still be entertained. Live baseball is my favorite sport to go see. I didn't go to a single Brewers game this year because the team was just utterly uninteresting.

Which one is your favorite?

I have been to about 12, and I still haven't found one better than the X. (Heavy bias)

I have been to about 12, and I still haven't found one better than the X. (Heavy bias)

1st: STL. Lots of things to do within walking distance of the arena, getting to it isn't bad, fun arena to go to.
2nd: BUF. It's been years since I've been there, but it was the 1st place I saw a NHL game live. So there is some bias there. It was also the Miller, Pommer, Vanek years so the place was rocking.
3rd: Avs. Denver has a really good public transport system. Nice area around the arena. The arena is middle of the pack, but seeing Nino's G7 winner live makes everything a little fuzzy.
4th: MN. I don't like getting to the arena, the parking, the area around the arena. I had season tickets for a few years, so the X has lost the awe factor. Lots of good memories there. The high school sweaters are neat to see, but they are just decoration because I have no ties to any of them. No tailgating is a big minus.
5th: FLA. Awful location really lowers it. I really liked the arena. Parking was easy. Each level had it's own smoking patio. So you could just step outside at intermission and warm up. It was weird going from south FL heat to an ice arena temps. There is a huge mall next to the arena, so lots of things to do.
6th: CHI. It was great seeing all the Hawks and Bulls history stuff the first time. I didn't like seeing the Bulls stuff it after that. I despise driving in CHI, so that beings it down a lot. The parking wasn't terrible. I don't recall what's in the area of the arena, but it's just a get in and get out because I don't like being in CHI. I also can't stand their goal song.

I've also been the the Vegas arena, but it was just a walk around not for a game. Great location if you're staying on the strip in Vegas is about all I can say about it.

CBJ is the arena I really want to see. The cannon intrigues me.

I like the X, too, once you get inside, but driving around there is a PITA. Just a really good, fun place with excellent sightlines.

Bell Center in Montreal is really nice, but I miss the Old Forum-- the best version of it was after the reno around 1970 or so. Insane atmosphere

Old Maple leafs Gardens was awful- way overhyped. Cramped as hell, quiet, and ugly. Haven't been to the new place

Vancouver is nice.

I've been to Edmonton's , but can't remember a damn thing.

Boston Garden was sort of a dump, but had a really good atmosphere.

I went there in the playoffs when we beat them in the first round. Not bad, but it sure ain't as nice as the X. Even the Blues fans I was sitting next to said the same, as they had road tripped to the X once.

The problem with most arenas I find? In concourse feels like your in a mall. Not the case whatsoever at the X. The open concourse to the ice around most of it really emphasizes the hockey above all. Even the portion that isn't open concourse, has the glass wall window through all the decks, preventing the closed in mall feel.

Watched some the Kings. Fiala had two assists on their two goals. He is clearly their best player... looks vg.

I don't like the concourse of the X. It feels like the halls of a high school next to the gym for me.

12 points up on 2nd place on the team (Kopitar).

Same amount of ES points as Kaprizov (though has played 4 more games).

Yes, I think the good 3 months has carried on.
I want Joe or Russo to bring this up and ask Guerin to comment again on the good 3 months.

Anyone have any insight on this trade?

Nieto's something of a boomerang, isn't he?
Merkley seems to have plateaued. He's got skill, but I've always questioned whether or not he'd develop properly. He was a very divisive prospect for a reason. I hope he's mellowed out over the years and can develop properly in Colorado, even though I hate that team.

I know nothing about the other guys.

I know that Kaut was once concerned a top prospect for the Avalanche, but like Jost never seemed to have developed.
