Almost 60% of Datsyuk's goals or Primary assists that led to game winners, game tying goals, or go ahead...3P or OT. Pretty crazy.

Pretty impressive...

He's going to enjoy all that open ice 3 x 3 in OT

3v3 OT and shootouts are exactly why we need a spot on the roster for a Jordan Weal type.

What makes you say that about a guy who hasn't played one second of NHL hockey? Is he supposed to be fast or something? Trevor Lewis is fast... :)

Check the boldfaced :)

Not that you want a guy that's just a SO specialist like a DH or something, but having a guy that's skill, good with open space, etc. is what we really need for the 'specialty' situations. Maybe it would have been better saying a Gaudreau type but I felt dirty.

He certainly had the Kings' number, so yeah, I could go for a Gaudreau type.

Even with the recent success by the Kings, Toronto vs LA is still one of the best series of all time.

Being close to "Leafs Nation", I was not a popular kid in my high school back in the spring of 93'.

Looking back at some of those games in comparison to the way the game is played today, there were times it looked like both teams had 10 Mike Richards on the ice, the defensive lapses were ridiculous at certain times.

Can't help but feel sorry for their young talent, i.e. Couture, Pavelski (he's like 30, i know), Vlasic

The IIHF fined the Russian Hockey Federation $85000 due to the Russian hockey team leaving the ice after getting their silver medal and not staying to see Canada honored as the Gold Medalist

The sport's governing body, IIHF, said the Russian players deliberately left the ice before Canada's national anthem was played after a signal from captain Ilya Kovalchuk.

The Russian federation had claimed its players had been confused after the rink-side gate was left open and took that as a signal to leave following the 6-1 loss in May in Prague.

Russian's excuse is pathetic. BEcause Russia has never participated in any kind of International tournaments with a medal ceremony....okay...

So much for the $9M he was supposedly looking for in the beginning.

No one from gio's camp ever confirmed that number, but it's a negotiation so they may have started high and then came down for term.

In the short term this is a huge win for the flames. Wonder what the last few years will look like, but for right now good for them.

Fair enough.

That is more than just coming down a little. But with the state of the cap and the fear right now that the CDN$ will continue to go down. It's a very reasonable deal.

Not necessarily. Maybe he was looking for a 4/5 year deal, but would come down for term. Who knows, but people here in Calgary seem to like it
