Rags place Tony DeAngelo on waivers. Wonder if someone grabs him. RFA, 2 years left at close to $5 million might be tougher to take on with a flat cap.

Wonder if recent social media activity led him to being placed on waivers.

Tony DeAngelo deletes his Twitter account, plans to join Parler

K’Andre Miller has gotten off to a solid start for them. He’s been pretty good in his own end and his ice time has increased the last few games. They got a good one there.

No interest in DeAngelo. At all.

Also, Minnesota Wild's first round pick is having issues with COVID complications.

They may be "young, elite athletes" but this shit is why I've been against playoffs last season and why I am completely okay with canceling this season.

i know everyone loves piling on deangelo for the recent politics stuff but the guy's career, juniors and up, has been a laundry list of controversy

he really sounds like locker room cancer and i don't want anything to do with him

I admit I don't like his politics, but my feelings against claiming him have nothing to do with that.

I think claiming him would make more sense if Walker is hurt long term or Roy is concussed. If there is no defenseman out there is no room on the right side for him so no sense in claiming him.

I never would have thought K Miller would have made the jump this early. Dude was horrendous in his own end at Wisconsin and at the WJC last season. Still early but he's been a big surprise.

Aggressive politicking aside, DeAngelo has a loooong history of being a shit teammate and a racist, not to mention a defensive liability that makes Randy Jones look like Larry Robinson.

Great to bring him onto a franchise with Thomas, Byfield, Spence, a lot of Europeans, etc.

And it's not a change of scenery wake him up thing, the guy has been on as many teams as Mike Sillinger in 1/10th the time.

Unless it's a Herb Brooks move where everyone wants to kill him and it brings the whole team together. Is there a rule against claiming a player and putting him on LTIR?

absolutely f***ing not on deangelo

he goes against literally everything blake and luc are trying to build. if we want character and accountability, those are two things deangelo is completely devoid of.

hard pass no thanks id rather see mark alt

I would make a claim just to see(or hear) the dynamics of him and Doughty in the locker room after a loss. But in all fairness he can play, maybe not the best D but he's got the skill.
Too much of a hot head to join this group right now. He was shopped in the off season by the Rangers and there was no interest after potting 53 points, character issues are big red flags. Interesting to see if the Pens take a flyer, there are depleted at D as well.

Yeah I’m a hard pass on Tony D. We don’t need a asshole around all the young pups.

I still remember the shit Brownie had to deal with when Avery was around.

I would add Dennis Tysgurov but he passed away.

What about the big Russian who came over in the Avery deal? He sucked too.

That was Maxim Kuznetsov, and yes, he was terrible.

I was thinking of some Kings from the 90’s era that passed away...quite a few. Kinda weird and sad.

Barry Potomski
Vladimir Tsyplakov
Dennis Tsygurov
Marc Potvin

It’s really tragic. Potomski was said to have died from a heart attack, and Potvin sadly committed suicide. What some former players go through post retirement is just so sad, like what’s happening to Joe Murphy and Matt Johnson. I wish the league and the PA took better care of them, but I also understand the difficulty in trying to help someone who constantly rejects a helping hand.
