Any interest in Sam Bennett? Hes a scrappy guy still only 24, high draft pedigree.
guy's always kind of been a problem against the kings, feels like. i think he's got hockey in him at an affordable price but i'm not sure how much of an improvement he is over any of the kids on wing

looking at stats seems like his play has suffered with more defensive deployments but i don't watch enough flames hockey to compare that to an eye test

i'll never forget him stepping in post holes after macdermid buried him though

Like Bennett a lot, would love him as gritty middle sixer of that age group, but not willing to give up what it would likely take, plus would probably need to just dump someone at that point anyway becasue of redundancy...but sort of like Lias Andersson maybe a change of scenery and a different role jumps tarts him

We already have Sam Bennett, his name is Lias Andersson.

Im not sure Andersson has the same level of grit to his game. Bennett is a gamer who has a pretty decent fight card. It would be nice to carry a decent middle weight fighter so that macdermid doesnt have to do all the heavy lifting. Plus the guy hockeys too.

Except he’s way tougher than Andersson.

I didn't necessarily mean exact play style, but a high pick reclamation project.

Oh, ok.

I was interesred in him because he brings an element to his game that we probably havent had since Richards (I mean feistiness not total game)

Love this kid.

Bjornfot had a good game as well. Toffoli trade continue to get better and better. :thumbu:

Dumping Wagner, Amadio, Moore or even Luff in place of Bennett would be fine by me. I've always liked the type of game he brings and think it's something the Kings are sorely lacking at the moment.

I like Bennett but Kings to need dump one of Luff, Wagner, Grunstrom, Amadio, Andersson, Moore, etc...

I agree on at least three of those!

I still think Wagner can be an effective fourth-line stir-shit-upper, not to mention he has game-breaking speed. Put together Wagner - Andersson - Grundstrom and you've got a mean, feisty fourth line with a lot of grit and speed and some surprising skill.

Amadio - 7 games 0 goals 1 assist and-1.

What blows my mind the most is that he's averaging 2:35 power play time per game. There's really no one else we could put out there? Not a single soul?

Here are some fun names of players across the league who average fewer minutes per game on the power play than Amadio: Alex Ovechkin, John Tavares, Claude Giroux, Jack Hughes, Nicklas Backstrom, Nikolaj Ehlers, the list goes on.

I think he needs a new zip code, he has shown, esp when he first came up, that he has talent but for some reason, he never became the player they thought he could be. (maybe it's usage also). Thing is, I don't think they'd get much in return, and feel he's better used as a bottom 6er who can move up if an injury occurs. Him wanting a trade and them moving him, two different things.

And apparently , his agent has been busy.

Victor Mete's Agent Hopes For Trade

Agent Darren Ferris is having an interesting night. After telling Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet that client Sam Bennett would like a change of scenery, now Ferris has told Salim Nadim Valji of TSN that Victor Mete has requested a trade away from the Montreal Canadiens.

Ferris told Pierre McGuire (in the Athletic) that he feels it would be better for both team and Mete, as Mete isn't being given the chance to play.

Bennett, I get, he's been in the NHL for several years, but Mete is only 22 and a defenseman, still young. It isn't easy to play the waiting game but sometimes you have to be patient.

Both Bennett and Mete are RFA's, so that's why the agent is speaking up.

I'd take Bennett for the cost of a 30pt forward, not a former 4th pick.
