This hit happens fast in the NHL, but it is also textbook, ‘Dont do this shit!’

Im guessing at least 1-2 games since he’s getting his cherry popped.

Hope so, so they can't use "he's not a repeat offender" next time he commits an offense like they often do with their circular punishments.

because of how remorseful Fialla was and how this is not the type of player he is, I cannot see more than 2.

That shouldn't play in at all, frankly.

Brown hurt one of his buddies on accident in Pominville and still got the book.

Brown has never been the same player since that elbow. A couple instances here and there, but nothing consistent like he used to be. They got Lucic and re-signed Gaborik in part because Brown was just not the same.

Will probably want a trade in three weeks.

He mght get traded after the season is over, Jackets have a history of being on the cheap side and have lost some good players due to that. Laine, would get them a good return. If they decide he is asking too much $$$, they could shop him and there are teams that will bite

One of the Jackets sites mentioned that PLD wasn't going to get paid, as much as he wanted on an LTC, in addition to wanting a bigger market. So maybe since they knew he wasn't going to sign long term, they got an elite winger (and a good center) in return, with the thought of what they could get trading him.

As for Laine and the Jets and the issues he cited on Wheeler and Schiefle

Somehow, that part doesn't seem to gel well from what I heard. I've heard on the Steve Dangle podcast, this week, (somehow that's been my go-to for hockey news in the league) where they had a guest is a reporter from the Atlantic that covers the Blue Jackets and apparently Columbus offered PLD $8 million a year for 8 years and PLD had no issues with the city itself, and that Torts is not the main reason why he wanted out. The reporter stated that there's really no clear answer on why PLD really wants out (and the reporter admits that that's the worst thing that can happen as a reporter where there's really no clear answer on why the guy wants out).

Freidman reported that the blue jackets were prepared to give PLD the largest contract in the history of the franchise

Guys, Skip to 2:18 and look at Drews response to learning John Hoven was up next

No wonder Drew won't come on the podcast. Jesus. I wonder what happened between the two.

I was gonna guess 2 games, but damn
yeah my guess was 2 also, i'm thinking the violence of the impact probably pushed it to 3

1 for a bad board, 2 for one that causes injury, 3 for one that was so close to being a career threat
