Well if we're taking it back to the summer, Arsenal had reasonable attacking depth and seemingly missed out on top targets (Sesko, Nico Williams), so I don't fault them for not buying depth. If anything they actually added depth with the Sterling loan (even if he infuriates me). But when Saka goes down for a few months and now with Jesus out for the season, we're left with Havertz, Martinelli, and Trossard playing the most and Nwaneri/Sterling providing some minutes. And Nwaneri actually fits the Saka role pretty well, but he's had minor injury issues. That's if you'd have the pieces in place. Arsenal didn't make any panic buys to get that 1/10, but needing a complete #9 and backup to Saka has been an issue for the past two years, which still hasn't been solved (thus they get a 0/10). We are just getting lucky that Nwaneri has looked so damn good. LFC not getting some extra depth in case of injuries after spending nothing in the summer also gets a 0/10 both in summer and winter. I get what you're saying, but you gotta spend the money if you're saving a 0/10 window for the next window. Neither Arsenal nor LFC have done that, especially considering that most of our buys last window were already in areas of strength. Yes Calafiori and Merino are solid players, but not as much of a weakness as relying on just Havertz, Saka, and Martinelli up top.
Sorry to hear Evilo - wishing you and your boy the best!Yeah few hours of sleep and my boy just got diagnosed with a cancer.

I think we've needed a #9 since Lacazette left and they obviously brought in Jesus to try and accomplish that role, but every neutral fan saw that he was never a good goalscorer. I agree that our targets have been ridiculously awesome, but Turkish makes a great point...don't clubs have 2nd and 3rd tier options? What I mean by that is if you're going after a player like Williams, which was rumoured at the very start of the window of being content with staying in Bilbao, aren't there others? Football has the highest registration of any sport around 100 million players on a quick Google search. Williams is definitely the cream of the crop, but he isn't the only one there. That is my biggest problem, likewise with Sesko. Ben is a great target, but Arsenal putting all their eggs in one basket has doom-like consequences and we've experienced that. Is Osimhen truly that unreliable of a player, that he couldn't play for us? Is Sesko so truly amazing that he should be the only target? Both questions are ones our board has failed at big time.Well if we're taking it back to the summer, Arsenal had reasonable attacking depth and seemingly missed out on top targets (Sesko, Nico Williams), so I don't fault them for not buying depth. If anything they actually added depth with the Sterling loan (even if he infuriates me). So for us, I'd rather not overpay for 29 year old Ollie Watkins who may not even be an upgrade to Havertz and would rather just save that cash for a significant upgrade at striker
Rice? Even someone like Havertz had Real Madrid and Bayern nibbling. Not only that, but look at all our big-time transfers. it was never Arsenal going out and getting the job done in the transfer market, but it was always on the backs of circumstances: Sanchez, Trossard, Oezil, Auba, etc. Off the top of my head, Pepe is the only one who Arsenal went out with major balls to get a top-tier player at the time of the transfer.
