Apparently Minnesota was the 4th.

I do wonder how much tampering there's been from the fallout of Team USA. Friedman hinted as much a few weeks back
It’s not really tampering if it’s talks between players, which almost certainly happened in Milan. Guerin being GM is interesting, but nobody post-Olympics has ended up with the Wild yet.

All players publicly talked about their team group text.

If it's strictly between players, sure. If Guerin or Zito or Fitzgerald also happened to sneak a few words in edgewise in that chat, well...

Really is shaping up to the summer of the team USA group text trade demands. It's a positive to be on a shortlist like that, but I wonder how far down the road discussions actually went. If we're making that type of splash Larkin is probably a better fit anyway.

We'll see how the Sens spend the picks, but I think they made the right call given the tough spot Brady put them in. It's a tough blow when your captain wants to skip town right as you're pulling the nose up on a rebuild, but that situation had become untenable. Flip those picks for a long-term difference maker and they may just come out ahead.

Admittedly this is at least partial cope, and maybe some recency bias after our series, but can't help but feel Brady is overrated because of his last name. Florida just used up all of their powder on another wing, I'd be a bit more worried if they had done that for a stud D on the right side of 30, say a Werenksi or whoever. Their forward group is insane of course, but I wonder how much this trade ultimately moves the needle for them beyond keeping Matthew happy.

Geez I just saw what Florida gave up.

They blew their load on the Brady trade. Man, I don't know if that's a good move for them. Not only because I think they have bigger needs, but team chemistry wise, he's absolutely the kind of player that could swing them from being tough to completely undisciplined.
Also, offloading their picks like that is how you end up like Detroit the past 15 years. No capital, no future. Any pick you do get has to land exactly or you're screwed. I don't think Florida has a 1st round pick until 2030 as of right now. If they don't go pedal to the metal the next few years they might be in a worse spot then they were from 1998 - 2020
