Haven't watched Sanheim a ton in his career, but briefly saw him dangling in the O zone like a forward, and setting up a nice passing play in front of the net today. Surprised to see it was him.

Then checked and saw he has 10 points in 10 games now.

If he found a new scoring touch that can go beyond this season, Philly could have a steal getting him at $6.25M.

I wrote about Backstrom here less than a week ago and now I see the news about he stepping away (probably retiring). welp, not surprised. unfortunately he looks completely done out there. it really is better for him to stop if not for something else, just so that he doesnt tarnish his legacy. I hope that whenever Lando comes back, he doesnt look like that too. and if he does, he also have the guts to step away instead of forcing something in vain.

Thing is, Landy is five years younger. He'll be Dustin Brown. It'll remain to be seen which version exactly.

Ducks look legitimately solid this year. Cronin is already having a huge impact on the way they defend as a team compared to last year.

Doesn't hurt that Mintyukov is playing like a legit #1D as a 19 year old and McTavish is breaking out either.

Could honestly see them contending for a Wildcard spot given how weak the West is.
LOL... The moment Vatreno and Strome drop off from unusually high levels of production and shooting %s, this team is a high pick lottery club.

Zegras is proving out as wildly overrated and Cam Flower is now a pretty lousy NHL player whom they are stuck with for another 3 years at a $7.5MM AAV. Drysdale is hurt yet again.

The west has some bad clubs and this will be one of them when the season is wrapping up.

Glad they hit on the Mintyukov pick. McTavish was picked 3rd overall for a reason. He's not supposed to suck. When you have a bunch of high picks, you should have a few good players on your roster. They don't have nearly enough though.

His take is not bad at all. They are 6-4 despite playing Vegas, Carolina, Dallas, and Boston already.

They are not the same team as last year. They have a new coach and basically an entirely new defense. Mintyukov is playing well and could be a Calder contender. Lacombe looks like he belongs. They'll get Drysdale back and I'd bet we see Zellweger at some point this year.

Carlsson looks as good as they could've hoped for. I thought he would need another year in Sweden, but he's stepped in seamlessly. McTavish is playing some legitimately great hockey. He was a top prospect and it's no fluke. Sure Vatrano won't keep his pace, but they've gotten nothing out of Zegras and they have babied Carlsson. Those trends will likely reverse as the year goes on. And they will still get Killorn on top off that.

Will they ultimately get into the playoffs? We'll see, but I expect them to be in the mix all year. They very much have a 17-18 Avs vibe to them.

That stupid incompetent dickhead Bettman not knowing what he's doing.
The owners must hate him and want to fire him any minute now.

I would like to see if it ever comes to light how much, if anything, Andlauer gets back for losing a first round pick. Putting a dollar value on picks would be very interesting to see.
