17 yr career. Damn I remember when he was drafted and being hyped for his first game. That rookie season was memorable. Remember when he wore #62 until classy JML gave him his #26? Wolski - Statsny - Svatos. Fun times. I feel older now.
He also had that assist record.

Vancouver has a 1.074 PDO. That regression is going to hit so hard when it comes around. Teams don't keep anywhere close to that high of a PDO over the course of an 82-game season. Not even the 13/14 Avs had one that high, they were a 1.018 PDO team. Good luck Vancouver when your hot streak comes to an end.
Ducks defense is going to be stacked again in another few years with Drysdale, Zellweger, Mintyukov, LaCombe, and Luneau.
I doubt all of them pan out, but that's loads of potential and I wouldn't be surprised if 4/5 of those names combine to make a very solid top 4. They also still have Helleson, Hinds and Vaakanainen who i'm not as sold on, but still decent prospects.

He looks unbelievably good for them this year and he's still only 19 years old. He's also a fantasy superstar already lmao. Averaging 1.5 Shots, 2.5 hits, and 1.5 blocks per game to go along with 6 points.
Dude has future #1 all situations guy written all over him IMO.

Mintyukov is the one. Hes been phenomenal for them and hes only 19.
Makar will be sidelined recovering from hip surgery he should have had this summer

He wasn't even good for Finnish League yet, but they had to put him in the NHL. Huge mistake.
They need to let him play and learn. Without massive pressure. They ***"" up huge, because now their hands are tied.

Ah, Paulie. One of my favorites. Really loved watching him play. Epitome of scrappy. My favorite thing about Milan Hejduk was how he went from a speedy, open ice cycle game with Sakic and (slightly slower with) Forsberg to a dig-pucks-out, battle-in-the-slot type of game with Stastny and didn’t miss a beat.
Oh and f*** every one of y’all who called him “Casper.” He was never the problem and the contract he signed with Giguere was worth every penny, no matter how many times Dater bitched and moaned about it.
I found it interesting that he didn’t go for longer term on any of his deals post-Avs. He certainly got his $$$ but he was fine sacrificing a bit of that security to get it.
As for some of his political leanings and actions, for once I’ll just shut up and leave things be for now. I still admire the player, even though I admire the person a lot less these days.
Someone needs to post a still of that time EJ and Landy came up behind him during a postgame interview.
