Just devastating. What a horrible accident. Condolences to his family and hope for a quick recovery for everyone in the arena that witnessed that live as it must have been traumatic.

Hope the NHL and hockey in general start taking skate cut protection more seriously. I know neck guards are uncomfortable but much better than a situation like this. Surprised they don’t all wear cut proof base layers as well

I've seen the video of Johnson and it's obviously not nice, but the amount of force the guy hit him with must have been massive. I watched the Richard Zednik video and he seemingly barely gets glanced by a skate and there's immediately loads of blood.

I've also gone down the rabbit hole and remembered a bunch of these incidents. Ryan O'Byrne getting hit in the face and finishing his shift before going off was a highlight:

Sunday game competing against the NFL, huh. I guess it works in Buffalo since there is no Bills game today and sport fans there must have their Sunday fix.

That death reminds me of how fortunate Taylor Hall is to be alive after he fell during warmups one season and got his face stepped on by I believe Ladislav Smid, and I don't think Hall was wearing a helmet.

Just digging into some stats for San Jose. They have a -26 goal differential after 9 games, and have scored 9 goals total so far. Yeah, it's early and all that, but forget about the Avs record for worst season in the cap era, they may break their own record of 71 losses in a single season.

They are a lottery team. They refuse to rebuild. They should have done it a few years ago.
Remember when they’ve could’ve gotten a decent haul for Weegar and Huberdeau (coming off a great season) with one year left on their contracts and really kickstarted a rebuild but instead they resigned them? It still makes me happy cause Calgary sucks

Lol holy f**k I didn't realize how bad Calgary's lineup truly is.

Dryden Hunt, AJ Greer, Dennis Gilbert, Walker Duehr, Ilya Solovyov all part of today's lineup. Almost 33% of the roster that should be in the AHL taking regular shifts.

The Oilers are straight up underperforming, but the Flames are genuinely bad. That team is going to miss the playoffs easily.

Send Elias Lindholm on down you cowards!

No kidding. This would be the 2C we need since my JT Miller dream is dead.

There blueline and goaltending are awful and they have no star power up front.

Ugly looking roster
I haven't watched any of their games, and the stats are not that great, but from what I've understood Markstrom has actually been pretty good this season. At least he's giving them a chance to win every night, if only they could score goals.
