Two weeks in and gotta say, the Bedard hype seems silly. He just isn’t as good at the NHL level as advertised.
odd take. I think Bedard's IQ looks off the charts and his shot is similar to Matthews insanely deceptive accurate and hard. Bedard already looks to have the two way ability McDavid lacks. Truly the next great in the game. He works better with higher IQ higher skill guys and he's paired with garbage now. On top of creating a ton on his own

That Devils D and goaltending are truly awful, they are not going anywhere in the playoffs. They are the Oilers of the East, riding on Jack Hughes and him providing offense. Mid after that.

Did we ever get solid information on what Avs offered Kadri? Even a 5 year $5M/year deal would have been iffy.

I like the IDEA of it, but it turns out only Jokiharju has good taste on that team. Most of the songs they picked blow goats.
Yeah, but Owen Power's goal song is POWER.

Tuch has Heads Will Roll, that's decent.

Dahlin has Humble. That's a bad pick but it's a good song.

Joel Hofer looks like hes going to be really good. What you think of him @Gigantor The Goalie

" That was a lot of numbers which mean nothing until we parse out what all of this…well means. The goalies that made the NHL following their DY+5 in the AHL with their AHL rookie season being their DY+3 with similar GSAA/30 results were: Jaroslav Halak, Stuart Skinner, Petr Mrazek, Josh Harding, Adin Hill. Only Halak had a higher GSAA/30 on this path. Looking at goalies who played their DY+5 then made the NHL full time without looking at their path there’s very few goalies who match what Hofer did statistically: Frederik Andersen, Daniel Vladar, Jaroslav Halak. With all of this in mind and on the table it’s reasonable to speculate that Hofer will be a solid NHLer for years to come with a very good chance at becoming a no. 1 goalie in the future with his floor being a high end no. 2 goalie"

They have maybe the deepest group of forwards in the league. Couple good guys on D. The goaltending is bad. At this point none of the contenders of the East look great early.

Timo Meier has looked pretty meh for Jersey as well and that’s a half season sample now if you include playoffs
