I mean as mid as their defense is, it’s a step up from that Avs defense. The bottom half of that Avs defense was just awful.
I’d argue the bottom half of that Canucks defense is awful as well. At least Chaos Giraffe and Cole, I guess Zadorov has had pretty good numbers for them.

Henchy posted some numbers that I find quite surprising, so maybe I’m wrong in my initial findings but that’s still a team IMO that lives and dies on percentages. They’ve scored lots of goals but they’re near the bottom of the league in shot generation.

I mean Myers, Cole and Zadorov are better than Guenin, Benoit... and Sarich was it?

Can't make that shit up...

Montreal losing 6-2 late in the 3rd against Tampa...they score 2 useless goals back to back to make it 6-4 so they pull the goalie... which then gives Kucherov the opportunity to get his 3rd point of the night with an empty netter assist.

Really want to see angry motivated Sid against whichever of Canes and NYR doesn’t win the division. Would be a much more fun series than Caps or Flyers
Flyers would struggle a lot and the Capitals would get utterly steamrolled.

I think come playoff time NYI ends up in the #3 seed in the Metro while Pittsburgh gets WC2. Outside shot at Detroit, but I think Philadelphia is too much in free fall and Washington is too bad of a team to make it.

Cool. The Jets played us well with Slowhansen down the middle.

From 2019-2022 the Avs were 7-3-0 vs Winnipeg.

The Avs post-TDL look more like those teams than they do the last 1.5 seasons of Avalanche hockey.

Gladly give me a Jets team that has been not-so-good since the new year where they are:

12th in Corsi
11th in xGF
12th in SCF%
16th in HDCF%
1st in SV%

To me, the only way Winnipeg beats Colorado is if Helleybuck stands on his head. Which is very much a possibility as he is IMO the best goalie in the league this season. But the Jets as a team? They don't scare me.

Playoff picture is starting to set a little. Still a lot to settle, but odds of playing the Jets are way up over the past weeks results.

Avs vs Jets
Dallas vs Nashville/vegas/LA
Vancouver vs Nashville/Vegas/LA
Edmonton vs Vegas or LA

A lot of things have to go right for the Avs to catch and pass Dallas. Need to win tomorrow, Dallas lose to Hawks which is close to impossible the way Dallas is playing right now, then we play the Stars and a win will put us ahead of them.

It could happen but unlikely

I’m not sure we really want the Avs to win the division.
In 2nd, we know we’re facing the Jets.
In first, you can face anyone of Vegas, LA or Nashville.

All depends on how you rank your opponents.
