Couldn't have said it better myself. I've had this discussion about these arbitrary round number benchmarks being nonsensical when MacKinnon hadn't yet had a 100 point season and it didn't go over well. Matthews hitting 70 goals and McDavid hitting 100 assists are cool accomplishments that ultimately should have no bearing on the voting for these awards. MacKinnon has been the best player in the league this season period. Barring some crazy run by McDavid or Kucherov, or MacKinnon going extremely cold his last 17 games, he has a real shot at winning the Art Ross, Hart and Lindsay.
 
Ottawa is so bad. Up against the cap and losing to San Jose? Chychrun and at least 1 core forward being shipped out this summer.

Maybe Tkachuk, there was talk like a couple weeks ago about him, not sure how legit. But they paid all these young guys longterm, and it isn't working. At least with the Avs, they won a cup first before paying everyone/letting them go.

Pittsburgh has been so bad lately Buffalo has jumped them. Thank God they wanted a vet like Bunting in the Guentzel trade to help them quickly.

Altitude is absolute trash but US vs Canadian hockey broadcast in general is night and day.

I bet the NHL would be more popular in the US if Sportsnet or TSN were doing the national broadcasts.
