Where did you see he's returning to the lineup now? To my knowledge, he's expected back a week or two before the end of the regular season, but not right now.
I swear I saw a tweet about it earlier this morning, but now I can't find it. All I can find is one from LeBrun, but he says Seguin is expected back around the deadline and Dallas can't use his LTIR money to add.
Not back soon, but he will return during the regular season so his money is not avalable for the Stars at the deadline:

I could see Edmonton getting hot again and making a run at it... but it would take Vancouver playing .500 hockey to end the season. If they simply play .650 hockey, it is realistically out of reach. Even .600 gets close.

NHL media once again getting ready to move the goal posts to their liking to screw Nate out of yet another MVP.....

Vancouver is 5-6-2 since the all-star break. Oilers are 6-5-1. So yeah, not happening with their current form.
if Edmonton win 4 of the 5 games in hand they'll be in a good spot

Oilers have the easier schedule I think

I feel bad for Arizona players and fans. That franchise is just cursed. They sucked as the Jets, they've sucked as the Coyotes. Save for a few seasons in the last 40 where they caught a (small) break, they've just been a sorry excuse for a hockey team.

They’ve still managed to go to the conference finals more recently than the Leafs and Wild is what’s amusing. Actually won a game and scored more than one single goal in the series unlike the latter too

To be fair, Dostal is playing out of his mind while NJD goalies again struggle.

Calgary has got NJ by the balls. They need Markstrom - badly, and immediately - so Calgary should be in a position to demand whatever they want.
True. ANA is on a b2b and look better than NJD in the 3rd.

If I were NJ, I wouldn't pay the price to get him in-season. The Devils are more toasted than a frat boy on pledge night, Markstrom would only get them above Washington at this point. Circle back around in the summer when the price might be lower.

If they punt on this season a lot of heads should roll. To waste a year of that core's prime just because they were arrogant enough to go dirt cheap with goaltending after losing two top four defenders is inexcusable.

IMO Devils made a bad choice trading for Meier. Ate up a ton of cap space for a player they didn't even need.
