I would not be surprised to find out someday if every single Arizona Coyotes player was being given supplemental payments by either the team or the league in order to not force an issue with the players union.

You hate to see it
But more than that....

Vancouver could really use Johansen.

Did not realize Brandon Hagel was up to 59 points in 61 games for Tampa... I remember folks who thought Tampa massively overpaid for him.
They did massively overpay for Jeannot though. Makes RyJo deal look like a bargain

Don't you worry. He'll be ready to go on April 19th.
But if he really doesn’t come back for the playoffs, it would be similar to Avs losing Landy. Vegas can’t replace Stone no matter who they get. He’s the heart and soul guy and their captain

Pretty sure it wouldn't be the team, considering they are probably below the salary cap in terms of real dollars out (a good portion of the LTIR salaries are probably covered by insurance).

Only paying 6.5 million on the extension with that kind of production (mostly 5 on 5 too) is a coup by Tampa. He’s only 25 so that contract shouldn’t age too poorly by years 6-8 either

WTF are the Leafs doing? Re-acquiring a player they didn’t like enough to retain the first time they traded for him and dealing away multiple picks in order to facilitate double retention???

And here’s the fun part—the pick the Leafs dealt for Lyubushkin the FIRST time hasn’t even been used yet.
I mean isn't this what we did with Jack Johnson? I'm sure the Leafs would've liked to keep Lyubushkin after his first stint, but couldn't afford to. It's not that he was lights out or anything, but he's a serviceable NHL defenseman and the Leafs are seriously lacking them.

Avs did not facilitate a three-team deal to get him back, they just flipped a journeyman AHL/NHL guy they weren’t going to keep anyway.

This does nothing to strengthen the Leafs blueline. In fact there’s evidence, based on his previous stint, he makes it worse.

It absolutely makes them better, because look at who they are playing in their bottom pairs. Does it improve them enough? No, not at all.

It's the same if tomorrow the Avs announce they have acquired a 4th line center. Does it make us better? Yes it does. Does it improve our center depth enough? No, we still need that #2C.

What you mean is, isn't this what we're going to do to get Naz back. :sarcasm:

With some retention, I would love too. But that's not going to happen, and I don't think Calgary is intending to blow it all up anyway. They are going to keep Markström as well. Looks like they just want to jettison their UFAs but not tear it all down.

Sending Stankoven down after how he’s started in the nhl is an odd decision. I’m guessing it’s his waiver eligibility but I don’t follow the stars

Each day he’s off the roster they bank a few bucks for the cap

I cannot even read SLC without saying Punk. Good movie
I’ve been the to liquor store in that movie more times than I can count 😂

Seguin is returning to the lineup, so they have to send someone down. I'm sure they would rather have Stanky play than watch from the pressbox
Where did you see he's returning to the lineup now? To my knowledge, he's expected back a week or two before the end of the regular season, but not right now.

I swear I saw a tweet about it earlier this morning, but now I can't find it. All I can find is one from LeBrun, but he says Seguin is expected back around the deadline and Dallas can't use his LTIR money to add.
